The contemporary kitchen is well-equipped for you to rustle up a scrumptious meal for your family and get together around the dining table. You can also enjoy views over the rolling hills whilst preparing the feast or when doing the clearing up afterwards. River Retreat plays host to three bedrooms, including a double, twin and bunk beds for children, and is completed with a bright and airy shower room. Outside is a lovely picnic area allowing you to enjoy a drink and a spot of relaxation in the Cornish countryside, as the sounds of a small stream travel just below. Just opposite the property is the Village Inn, a family run bar and restaurant that serves good food, so you can take an evening off from the cooking if you wish. Nearby there are numerous walks to enjoy on Bodmin Moor/Minions areas, with plenty of open landscapes to explore in this fascinating region of old tin mine buildings. Venture down the south Cornish coastline stopping off at Looe, St Austell, Polperro and Fowey for some time on the beach or browsing the abundance of shops. The cottage is also within close reach of two beautiful lakes at Colliford and Siblyback, each providing cycle ways, fishing and watersports, an excellent base to enjoy all that South Cornwall has to offer.
The historic market town of Liskeard is located in South East Cornwall at the head of the Looe Valley. The town has a weekly market and is home to a number of shops, pubs and restaurants. The beaches and harbour of the quaint fishing port of Looe is a mere 9 miles away. In-between there’s fishing and watersports at nearby Siblyback Lake, the Donkey Sanctuary at St Ann's Chapel, Cotehele House (NT) and gardens, and the championship golf course at St Mellion International Resort. Head to the world-famous Eden Project for a superb day out with the children. Even the maritime city of Plymouth with its historic Barbican docks area, outstanding shops, theatres and restaurants and the National Maritime Museum is only 30 minutes by car.
