The Granary in Looe offers a quaint stay with its collection of historic houses set in a beautiful coastal location. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, traditional features, and the friendly neighbours with goats and hens. While some find the property and its furnishings dated, the charm of the area and the potential for a serene getaway are noted highlights.
Reviews indicate a need for better cleanliness, with guests having to wash kitchenware before use and mentioning mould in places. However, some guests found it quite clean.
The location is highly praised for its serenity and proximity to stunning coastal paths, making it a favourite for visitors to Cornwall.
Guests find the beds comfortable but report issues with other furniture being old and uncomfortable, suggesting a need for updates.
Facilities are noted as lacking, with reports of maintenance issues like bathroom fixtures and limited cleaning products. The absence of a washing machine is also a drawback.
While a welcome pack of eggs is mentioned, there is insufficient information to assess overall thoughtfulness, and such gifts should not be expected.

Great little collection of 17th to 19th century houses, within great coastal places, comfy beds, clean linen, recycled kitchen units, clean traditional tile floors. Towels are medium, not bath sheets, one each. Take a hand hair towel or beach towel and a few kitchen essentials. Owner seen once and greeted, neighbours with goats and hens are very friendly.Only thing I would say is could the owners ask those staying to clean the pans etc after use, or give them the tools to do it, had to wash all pans before cooking, si if we all did our bit when staying , new visitors wouldn't need to clean. Overall a very good location and cottage, the Granary . Thank you

I am not one for picking fault with every property I stop in for the sake of it. The location and serenity of this property is its biggest selling point and I appreciate that that is what you pay for. The property itself however needs a major uplift and a deep clean. The one and only sofa in the living room is old, stained, ripped and uncomfortable. There are basic issues which need to be addressed. For instance the bathroom taps are backwards (kids got hot water when running cold tap), the toilet seat was hanging off, there were no bowls for the dog when the property is advertised as dog friendly and there were limited cleaning products to maintain an element of cleanliness. There was mould around the bath, on walls and on curtains in the bedroom. When we arrived we realised that there was a single toilet role. Granted we purchased our own but to have only one provided is surprising. We asked for towels to be included meaning that we did not bring our own and we each got a towel which was just about big enough to class as a hand towel. They certainly were not suitable as bath towels or beach towels. The fact that there is no washing machine or facility to dry them meant that we made do with five towels between five people for a week. The property overall is dated. It could be amazing. It served its purpose as a base and for that we are grateful but we know there is far better for less out there.
