About this property

Looe 2.8 miles. Nestled in a tranquil countryside setting a few miles outside of Looe, is this delightful, semi-detached home, Skylarks. Boasting spacious gardens with surrounding countryside views and ample off-road parking, Skylarks is a wonderful choice for a family looking to spend some time relaxing in this Cornish region. Step through the front door and discover the kitchen, where the chef of the group can impress with a hearty meal, whilst the dining table is laid with crockery and cutlery in preparation for a feast. Carry the conversation into the charming lounge, complete with sofas, a Smart TV and a woodburning stove, so you can enjoy movie nights together. Ascend to the first floor and find the bedrooms, including two king-size rooms and a twin, serviced by a gleaming bathroom with bath and shower over. To the outside of Skylarks is an expansive garden space, with an enclosed gravelled courtyard providing the perfect place for alfresco dining, plus there is a fabulous patio area with hot tub providing the ideal place for a lazy soak whilst appreciating the surrounding views. Nestled on a 300 acre dairy farm, there is access to many surrounding paths and land that is great for walking. Hop in the car and head to Looe, a vibrant town where you can lounge on the beach, hook your catch of the day along Banjo Pier, take a tour of the Guidhall Museum & Goal, sample fresh seafood at The Old Sail Loft or take a hike along the renowned South West Coast Path. Board one of the many boats from the harbour and see the seals in the natural habitat or venture over to Looe Islands bird and wildlife sanctuary for a particularly picturesque coastal setting. If adventure takes you further afield then the famous Eden Project and Heligan Gardens can’t be missed. Choose Skylarks for a delightful escape to a rural setting in Cornwall.

The quay area in East Looe, which is joined to the quieter West Looe by a seven-arched 19th-century bridge over the River Looe, is usually bustling with activity because Looe is Cornwall's second-largest fishing port. The river taxi runs between East and West Looe as well. While West Looe boasts a wonderful view of the harbor, East Looe has a lot of tourist stores, small cobbled alleys, and winding lanes. The quay leads to Looe's viewpoint, Banjo Pier, which is an excellent place to observe the departing fishing trawlers and gaze across the bay to Looe Island, which is occasionally accessible by foot during extremely low tides. Due to its wide expanse of sand and safe shallow swimming, family love the sandy Looe beach, which is adjacent to the pier. Hannafore also has a fantastic rock pool area that kids would like. In the recently opened Old Sardine Factory in West Looe, there is a heritage centre with a climbing wall and a cafe, and the lovely Kilminorth Woods have way-marked treks through the towering oak wood, which is abundant in plant, insect, and bird life. In addition to beach activities in this region of south-east Cornwall, Bodmin Moor and the Tamar Valley are home to numerous mining ruins, much of which has World Heritage status. A large portion of Bodmin Moor served as the inspiration for King Arthur-related legends, and this region of Cornwall has inspired writers like Daphne du Maurier. There is a lot to discover in this stunning region of Cornwall.

Comfortable, warm, comfy beds, location was great too. Welcome pack for the dogs and us humans, couldn’t fault it at all. Would visit again in a heartbeat. Thank you.

We travelled along the coast to lots of beaches and harbour towns, including Looe and Polperro. As we had warmish weather we enjoyed sea swimming every day, especially at Talland Bay. Would recommend a visit to Skylarks for those keen to explore this beautiful area. Christine & Bob
