The view was beautiful over the lake watching all the wildlife was stunning. The location was great not far from Looe and other places The only downside was the terrible smell outside the door as you walked in smelt like sewage it was quite awful and sometimes could smell it as you walked in. Bathroom floors need replaced as there coming up from the floor so that wasnât nice kitchen work tops need replacing around the sink area they seen better days maybe a light outside as there isnât one would of been nice to sit outside of a evening Hot tub was nice overall it was a lovely stay and my mother in law had a lovely break .

However even though the setting is lovely by the lake it was spoilt my continuous building work going on everyday ( did video and report this to reception . ) Totally spoilt the holiday ! The lodge was dog friendly but unfortunately the smell of urine was everywhere! Especially in the bedroom . Had to spray air freshener all the time to be able to sleep from the smell . We were very lucky to have had beautiful weather otherwise we would have come home early .

Regarding the accommodation- fixtures and fittings were originally to a high standard - we have stayed at this site many times over the last 12 years including previous stays at #7 Waterâs Edge - however maintenance has not been kept up. Lounge/Kitchen area is still very nice with good views across the lake. There are some games provided and TV/AppleTv/Bluray player are nice to have for a lazy afternoon at home and sofas, table & chairs are all good quality. Cleaning routine had failed to pick up mouse droppings in multiple cupboards- I hadnât expected to have to sort out a visit from Rentokill whilst on holiday. We were unable to report this issue immediately due to a Bank Holiday, however this was resolved within 24 hours of being reported to CharterOak. Flooring and skirting in the en-suite needs replacement due to mould & damp. The worktop in the kitchen also needs attention. Decking needs attention- some boards have already been replaced. More needs to be done in the near future. Table & chairs on the deck need maintenance (cleaning/sanding/minor repairs) or to be replaced. We were quite tolerant of the issues due tonour fond memories of family holding over a number of years, however I would be surprised if a first-timer would be wishing to return based on this experience. We still find this a very relaxing location and would consider booking again but only in one of the lodges which has had recent maintenance. We would not rebook WE7 at this time unless this issues mentioned have been addressed. We registered these issues with Sykes on day 1 of our holiday. It is now 9 days since they were registered we have not been contacted other than to receive a complaint reference.
