There are many antique shops and dealers in town, as well as excellent restaurants, a lively farmer's market, and quaint country inns. It is only three miles to the National Trust's Lanhydrock House and Gardens, and not much further to the Eden Project in Cornwall, the shipwreck museum and tall ships harbour in Charlestown, and the picturesque fishing villages of Mevagissey, Fowey, and Padstow, home to the renowned Rick Stein restaurants. There are many exciting activities to partake in, such as river canoeing, biking, hiking, and leisurely walks, as well as the opportunity to experience the crashing Atlantic surf, long sandy beaches, and dramatic coastline of the north coast, especially at the famous Newquay. There are always fun events going on in this welcoming community, like the annual raft race, the world-famous tug of war, Carnival week, and the seagull outboard motor races. I live locally and booked for a family visit. My niece and family enjoyed their stay. The cottage is clean and comfortable, has everything needed for a family stay. Central location only a short walk from shops and the railway station. Private parking. Will definitely recommend to friends and use again for family visitors.

Really felt like home. As well as being in walking distance of shops and other amenities, it was well-positioned for visiting the wider area, with the Eden Project, Fowey, Landhydrock and Bodmin only a short drive away. It is also within walking distance of a train station so you don't need to be reliant on a car. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we could possibly need. A note to the owner if they read this - the bottle opener is not working and needs replacing. Comfortable beds and a powerful shower, though I personally would have liked the shower to have been slightly hotter, even if that was at the expense of some power. Really lovely walking country with plenty of walks right from the door. Would be happy to return.
