Guests say

The Loft at Beach House in St. Austell, Cornwall, boasts stunning sea views and a prime location for coastal walks and local amenities. Guests appreciate the cleanliness, the welcome packs, and the property manager's attentiveness. While some find the property and its access points to be in need of maintenance, the charm of the location and the thoughtful touches often lead to repeat visits.

Reviews are mixed regarding cleanliness. Some guests report the property as spotless and well-maintained, while others note issues with cleanliness, such as unclean kitchen utensils and dusty areas. The presence of a diligent property manager is frequently mentioned, suggesting responsiveness to cleanliness concerns.

The location receives high praise for its stunning sea views, proximity to the coastal path, and local amenities. The convenience of off-road parking and the short walk to Mevagissey are appreciated, contributing to the property's appeal as a desirable holiday spot.

Comfort receives a moderate rating. Guests enjoy the views and find the beds comfortable, but some express concerns about the size of the property, uneven floors, and the bunk beds being too close to the ceiling, which could be uncomfortable for taller individuals or those sleeping on the top bunk.

Facilities and maintenance have room for improvement. Guests mention well-equipped interiors and appreciate the off-road parking. However, several reviews highlight maintenance issues such as run-down exterior areas, the need for tidying and painting, and inaccurate property directions. The property's charm inside contrasts with the need for external upkeep.

Thoughtfulness is well-regarded, with several mentions of generous welcome packs and the property manager's helpfulness. While these gestures are warmly received, it is noted that such personal touches, though delightful, may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

The property was equipped with what we needed although furniture was functional rather than comfortable. We were disappointed not only that the room temperature was only 10 degrees when we arrived but that there was no way of controlling the heating. The owner said we just had to hope it would click on eventually. Some days it did and some not at all. No consistency of timings. It would have been good to have some recycling opportunity, and it would have been helpful if the listing had indicated the presence of a freezer.

Beds were comfortable and rooms were warm. Probably a little too small with 2 teenage children but ok for a couple of nights.

Very quiet, so sleeping on comfy bed was lovely. A good base for local areas. Met the owner who was very pleasant. We had a lovely time and can highly recommend The Loft for other couples who want to explore this area of Cornwall.
