In less than a minute's walk, you can reach the golden sand of Porth Beach, which is a popular spot for families and ideal for building sandcastles and building dams across the shallow stream. Porth beach is safe for swimming and surfing, with lifeguards on duty so you can enjoy the waves coming in off the Atlantic. An ice cream hatch and a small café are open during the summer season. If you're looking to refuel, a 5-minute stroll takes you to The Mermaid, a beachside pub with large inside and outside seating areas. It's perfect for grabbing a quick refreshment or enjoying a delicious evening meal and a drink, or the Friday night pub quiz! Just 50 metres from the house is Gwenna Tearooms; a 16th century cottage restaurant serving incredible breakfasts, lunches, afternoon cream teas; so, there really is something for everyone, right on your doorstep.
If you're feeling adventurous and want to explore further, there are plenty of fantastic eateries and beautiful beaches to discover in the surrounding area; a 15-minute walk up the cliff path towards Lusty Glaze is a private beach with a restaurant and Jetski safaris on offer or, put on your walking boots and head to neighbouring Watergate Bay, where you'll find surf schools, more eateries, shops and glorious golden sand.
