Off the main road leading to Newquay, in the tranquil village of St. Columb Minor, there is a store and a top-notch neighbourhood bar called the Farmers Arms. Here, a variety of weekly activities seem to be the most well-liked, in addition to being well-known for their food and local ales. The majestic village church, which dates to circa 1430 and is located across from the bar, has served as a signpost for generations of fishermen thanks to its tall tower. There are so many beautiful beaches in Newquay that you will be spoiled for choice, but Porth beach is the best for families. It is a wonderful sandy beach with a sheltered aspect that is shielded by headlands on both sides and has long been a favourite among locals. The town of Newquay, which is less than a mile away and is renowned as the centre of the UK's surf scene, is a watersports haven with three major beaches, the National Surf Centre, and an inexhaustible supply of rolling surf.

The doors arent wide enough to get in & out. no handles to support you whilst getting in & out. My Son had a bad fall whilst getting out of the shower. Drains are blocked reported to Maintenance.still blocked after plummer attending. There are no comfortable chairs to sit on. My friend and I are in our twilight years.. Not suitable for our needs. Kind regards Carole Anderson

The kitchen was well equipped , however it would be good to add a coffee plunger to the facilities and to have a few basics available like foil, kitchen spray etc. Not a huge problem at all just a suggestion. Would love to stay here again ., Many thanks, Su

It stopped working completely on the 3rd day. There was none of the promised wood for the log burners. I booked it because there was a bathroom each for my mum and me, but the upstairs bathroom was full of black mould. The tiny basin in the shower room was cracked right through. The freezer was so dirty I had to wrap our cool box blocks in cling film before putting them in there. There was dust and dirt everywhere. It was like someone had done a 5 minute whip round, but that was all. At over £100 a day, I expect a much better standard than this. Such a shame, as all our othere stays at Sykes cottages have been lovely.
