The Caravan is a well-kept Willerby Grasmere holiday home set within the Oak Forest area of White Cross, near Newquay in Cornwall. Sleeping up to eight guests, it’s a solid choice for families or groups of friends looking for a lively break with on-site facilities and straightforward access to some of Cornwall’s best-loved spots. Arranged over a single level, the layout includes a double bedroom and two twin rooms, along with a pull-out double bed in the lounge for added flexibility. A shower room with WC, plus a separate WC, helps things run more smoothly when everyone’s getting ready at once.
The main living area is generously proportioned, with ample seating and a large TV, offering a comfortable place to relax after a day exploring the coast or making the most of the holiday park’s attractions. Outside, decking wraps around the front and side of the caravan, with outdoor furniture in place for evening drinks or a laid-back breakfast. A secure metal locker is available for storing fishing gear, ideal for those keen to take advantage of the well-regarded angling lakes on site. White Acres Holiday Park is geared up for all ages, featuring adults’ and children’s entertainment, a clubhouse, arcade and indoor swimming pool.
Anglers have access to 13 fishing lakes, including specimen lakes, with permits available from the on-site lodge. There’s also a convenience shop and a fish and chip takeaway for easy meals, while larger supermarkets can be found in nearby Newquay. The town itself offers sandy beaches such as Fistral and Towan, a bustling harbour, the Blue Reef Aquarium and a wide range of restaurants and surf schools. Watergate Bay and Padstow are also within reach for further coastal days out. A bus stop sits just outside the park, and there is tandem parking for two cars beside the caravan. Please note: Pillows, quilts and end-of-stay cleaning are included; guests must bring their own bed linen.
A non-refundable deposit is required within eight days of booking, with the balance due eight weeks before arrival. Seven-night stays run from Saturday to Saturday. No pets, smoking or bait permitted inside the caravan.
This Cornish village rests some three miles south-east of Newquay, named after the surrounding area of moorland and playing host to a local shop, a couple of pubs, a garden centre and the railway station, which operates local services every couple of hours between Par and Newquay. You can also access Newquay by car, via the A392, and discover its endless supply of rolling surf, three wonderful beaches, each offering something different, and a variety of family-friendly attractions. Spend a day at the zoo or sea life centre with the kids and try out some of its finest restaurants and bars for light refreshments or a spot of lunch. The South West Coast Path is a must, attracting tourists from all over, home to an abundance of wildlife and spectacular landscape scenery, as well as picturesque beaches and hidden coves. You also have the chocolate-box fishing village of Padstow with its thriving harbour and traditional Cornish amenities, while the city of Truro has museums, its beautiful cathedral, and cobbled streets. The Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan and the towns and villages of Fowey, Polperro and Mevigissey are also worth visiting. This is the ideal base for exploring the heart of Cornwall.
