The property is in a great location and room size and layout was good. However the property felt neglected. There were cobwebs and spiders in many rooms, stains on the carpet and grease on the tiles behind the hob. The doors of the wardrobe were gritty with something on them, and something had been spilt on the sofa and not wiped off. We had to go and buy batteries for the TV remote as it didn’t work. We tried to change the batteries in the fire place remote as it wasn’t working, but these were completely corroded and couldn’t be removed. Some plates and mugs were chipped, the frying pans were no longer nonstick and out of date condiments had been left in the cupboards and drawers. The mats on the dining room table had not been wiped and the table itself was marked. There was no welcome pack, we found a A4 laminated page with some information under a pile of tourist information for last year, 2024. We realised on the second day the hot water had not been turned on (we assumed the water in the kitchen took a while to get hot!). Some cleaning items had been left but the hoover was difficult to use and didn’t pick much up.Outside is very bland with no personality, and the table covered in cobwebs and spiders. Although the weather was warm some days we never used the garden as it was not pleasurable to sit there. The bed linen and towels were of excellent quality. This could have been so much better. The property needs a deep clean and someone to check and replace the resources. I feel disappointed that so little consideration was given to what would make this a pleasant stay for us. In fact my niece had to use her inhaler as she is asthmatic and effected by the dust! It was not worth the money. I hope leaving this review will remind the owners they need to care for the property and make it a better place for future guests.
