This idyllic cottage enjoys a countryside setting, 2 miles from the village of Porthtowan. The property sleeps six guests and makes the perfect base for families and groups of friends seeking peace and tranquillity. The area is a paradise for keen walkers and cyclists, with the traffic-free Mineral Tramways Trail passing just 50 metres away and the South West Coast Path within 2 miles.
The cottage is bursting with rustic charm, with exposed beams and stonework and delightful, country-cottage decor. A bright and airy kitchen provides the perfect spot to whip up tasty dishes for the group, which you can share together in the attractive dining room with its cosy wood burner, stone wall, and beamed ceiling. The separate lounge is a delightful place to unwind after a busy day, with a second wood burner for chilly nights, along with comfortable seating and a Smart TV. There is also a double bedroom on the ground floor with direct access to the garden, as well as a contemporary family bathroom. Cottage-style stairs lead to the first floor and the two remaining bedrooms, both boasting relaxing countryside views. To the front of the cottage is an enclosed garden with a lawn, patio area with outdoor furniture, and a pond with koi and goldfish. To the rear of the property, you’ll find a raised seating area next to a pretty water feature, and steps leading to a secluded lawn area with a picnic table.
The villages of Porthtowan and Porthreath are within 2 miles, and both have a handful of local shops and eateries. For a day at the beach, head to the golden sands of Porthtowan, known for its exceptional surfing conditions. There are also some stunning clifftop walks from here, along the South West Coast Path. The seaside resorts of St Ives and Newquay make great day trips, and are both within 20 miles of the cottage. For a fun, family day out, head to Newquay Zoo (17 miles) or Flambards Theme Park (13.5 miles).
