Located in the picturesque village of Gorran Haven on Cornwall’s south coast, Beachcliff is the perfect destination for a family holiday or equally for a group of friends to enjoy. Within the Cornwall Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty, Beachcliff enjoys a simply sublime setting with captivating sea views. All the accommodation is conveniently placed on one level making for ease of access and is warm and welcoming, ensuring visitors enjoy a memorable stay. Within a 5 minute walk are safe beaches, the coastal footpath and shops down a short steep hill. The small general store ‘Cakebreads’ is where you can buy basic daily items; they also provide wonderful pasties and other savouries as well as teatime treats. The fish and chip shop in the village is highly recommended, and The Barley Sheaf pub and restaurant in Gorran is just a mile away. Take a seat in the living/dining room which boasts incredible views of the sea and coast beyond. Watch the sun rise over the sea from the outdoor, covered decking area where you can enjoy eating and drinking alfresco, or take a few steps down onto the enclosed lawned garden where the picnic bench is perfectly-positioned to be able to make the most of those all-important coastal views. After all that fresh air, you’ll be ready for bed so pick from three, calming bedroom spaces; a double and two twins, one of which contains two child-friendly two-foot-six-inch beds, and two of which have delightful sea views and offer a relaxing sleeping environment, ideal for catching some holiday shut-eye. Come morning, when you’re refreshed and raring to go, after a quick wash in the shower or a relaxing soak in the bath, head out for the day to explore the wonders on your doorstep. The nearby beaches are very special, with Gorran Haven and Little Perhaver beaches just a short walk away, or take your pick from other sandy beaches, including Vault beach, within walking distance from Beachcliff. Further along the coast path are delightful Hemmick and Caerhays beaches, otherwise reached by a short drive. The cottage is perfectly sited for walkers and you can head out from the door East or West along the South West Coastal Path with amazing views and scenery along the way. Attractions in the area well worth visiting include the Eden Project, and the fishing village of Megavissey, or jump in the car for a scenic drive and to enjoy attractive nearby villages to the west such as Portloe, Veryan, St Just, St Mawes and Tregony on the Roseland Peninsula and to the east, Fowey with its lovely harbour. The area is well known for its many spectacular gardens with the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the wonderful spring gardens at Caerhays Castle within five miles. For a wonderful, varied holiday to remember for a lifetime, be it on the beach, walking or enjoying the other local attractions, book a break at Beachcliff.
The south coast of Cornwall's Gorran Haven, a former crab fishing community, is a great starting point for exploring the area's numerous beaches and bays. A little sandy beach in Gorran Haven, which is well-liked by families, is hidden by a conventional sea wall and connects with the longer Great Perhaver beach at low tide. The South West Coast Path, which runs through Gorran Haven, provides easy access to much of the coastline in this region that is held by the National Trust. Many more remote beaches are accessible on foot, as well as the 370-foot-high Dodman Point, which rises above Gorran and is believed to be one of Cornwall's most stunning headlands and the site of numerous shipwrecks. Views across Veryan Bay to the west and Vault Beach to the east can be seen from its gorse-covered heights. As an alternative, you might like to stroll along the seaside path to Mevagissey's harbour village. Caerhays Castle is a free-form 60-acre garden on the coast close to Porthluney Bay, in a lovely setting of woods, streams, and grassland. The stunning Eden Project, Wheal Martyn Chinese Clay Museum, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, and Truro, a cathedral town with top-notch food and shopping options, are among nearby attractions.

2. Well equipped bungalow 3. Some areas tired and musty smell due to dampness. 4. Vehicular access through the large gate was a tight squeeze for my VW Tiguan. Anyone with a longer car would not be able to drive through this gate due to the narrow street. I feel this should be pointed out when listing the property. Overall we had a lovely stay in a stunning location.

The location is superb with a panoramic sea view. Walking to the harbour, beach and Cakebreads was close, if a steep hill. The house had character and an interesting history. The worst issue is getting the car into and out of the garden with substantial solid gateposts only a few millimetres on each side of my car, which is only of medium size. They should come down with a recessed and wider opening and a proper surfaced parking area provided. Lynn and Geoff July 2024

Weâve stayed at 8 different places in GH now as we go there every year. We've stayed in one place ( Trelawney) 3 times. Weâve stayed in places with much better facilities, places with dishwashers, laundry rooms with dryers, en-suites and places a with rooms to hang wetsuits, however despite theses things we will be returning to BeachCliff as nothing weâve stayed in yet offers the charm, the veranda and the view . We were all very sad to leave.
