Guests have had a delightful experience at Furness, praising its cleanliness, ample space, and homely touches. The property is well-equipped and ideally situated for exploring Cornwall, with some guests appreciating the pet-friendly environment and secure parking. While the location is convenient for visiting attractions, a car is necessary for local amenities. The comfort of the beds received mixed feedback, and the weather limited the use of the outdoor area. Thoughtful gestures like milk and biscuits on arrival were well-received, though such gifts are not guaranteed.
Reviewers consistently mention the property being very clean, with multiple guests highlighting this aspect positively. There is only a minor note about flies, which does not significantly detract from the overall high standard of cleanliness.
The location is praised for its convenience to local beaches and attractions, though it is noted that a car is needed for local amenities and the immediate surroundings are not highly regarded. The property's central position for exploring Cornwall is a plus.
The property is described as comfortable and cosy, with a spacious sitting room area. However, there are comments about the beds being a bit hard, suggesting room for improvement in this area.
While the property is generally well-equipped and mentions of a well-furnished outside area and the addition of a second shower room are positive, there is insufficient detail in the reviews to fully assess the standard of facilities and maintenance.
Guests have expressed appreciation for thoughtful touches like milk and biscuits on arrival. However, as these gestures are not guaranteed for every stay, they are a bonus rather than a standard provision.
Charlestown 7 miles. Settled on the outskirts St Austell and packed with character, thanks to its historical setting, rests this charming holiday home of Furness. A fantastic base for a family of six's Cornish getaway, Furness is within reach of a range of brilliant sights and attractions, including the Eden Project and Roche Rock which are just a short drive away. Due to the location it is a perfect spot for exploring the whole of Cornwall. After parking in one of the generous off-road parking spaces on arrival, make your way inside and be welcomed by a delightful kitchen/diner, a well-equipped space hosting everything you need to make delicious, homecooked meals, including an electric cooker! Once these tasty dishes have been made, these can be enjoyed at the dining tables of the kitchen/diner, or outside on the sunny patio. Continue to the living room, where a large, velvet corner sofa entices you to settle down with your favourite tipple in front of the electric fire and Smart TV. As the day draws to a close, choose between one of three lovely bedrooms on the first floor, all of which enjoy neutral tones and charming exposed beams, including a super king and two twins. A bathroom and shower room complete the interior. A relaxing stay awaits at Furness. The accuracy of the location is totally wrong, the nearest shops are nearly 2km away and definitely not within walking distance due to the dangerous roads unless you are like me and used to live in Roche and know the back roads. The rest I mentioned in my stay in June but was not all published
Helen
To be honest not a lot has changed, yes the second shower room downstairs is an added bonus but off from the living room
Sarah
Very clean, warm and homely. Milk and biscuits were great when you've been travelling. Everything easy to use. Central to places to visit.
