About this property

Exuding elegance and style, Albany is a stunning, luxurious holiday home which has been renovated to an exceptional standard to provide stylish accommodation for six people in Cornwall, set over three floors. Situated within a short walk of Port Isaac’s amenities, this impressive holiday home successfully combines contemporary furnishings with traditional features, and is not only dog-friendly, but also boasts sea views, and has a wonderful garden!

On the ground floor is a modern kitchen featuring stylish lighting. The décor is eclectic, mixing Scandinavian minimalism with an underlying coastal theme, to create a unique setting for your holiday. The living room is welcoming, with a woodburning stove and a magnificent exposed stone wall, whilst the dining room - with its reclaimed wooden table and chairs adorned with sheep skins - makes for the perfect place to enjoy a family meal!

On the first floor is the master bedroom with a balcony and sea views, plus a feature hanging chair! Also on this floor is a family bathroom with a wonderful free-standing bath.

Finally, on the third floor are two further beautifully appointed bedrooms - 1 twin and 1 double - and a family shower room.

Outside you will find a delightful garden, featuring a lawn and raised dining area with patio furniture well positioned to admire the views out to sea.

There are many restaurants and cafés just a short walk away in the hub of Port Isaac village - follow dinner with a drink on the historic ‘Platt’, where you can sometimes listen to shanty singers ‘Fisherman’s Friends’ perform. Other top places to visit include Rock and Wadebridge, just 8.5 miles away by car.

For a truly special break beside the sea, Albany is a sensational holiday home where you are sure to make everlasting memories of Port Isaac.

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. Only ten minutes drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike. There is ample parking at the top of the village.

However; Freezer broken and fridge door loose. Cold tap in main bathroom broken No information left in house so we had to work everything out from scratch However some of the details where great: Like logs for fire, soap by all the sinks.

The boiler had also lost pressure so no hot water or showers for our first morning but was quickly rectified by John Bray on notifying them. Great location and the added bonus of a parking space available for use makes this a great cottage.

The cottage is stunning, very comfortable and had all the facilities we needed. Position is perfect although as we expected it is on a steepish road and loading/unloading due to the very small parking area at the front wasn't too easy. I would like to point out 3 small things : 1. The downstairs toilet has a very slight damp smell and we realised that when you step on the boards there is a 'squelching' sound which made us think there could be water underneath them. Similarly the floorboards below the fridge seems to have some water seeping on them from underneath the fridge, this may or may not be connected to the problem in the toilet as the fridge is on the other side of the wall. 2. The very upstairs shower - the water doesn't drain away very quickly, this may need looking at. 3. We appreciated the beautiful weather we had whilst we were there however the upstairs bedrooms were very hot, the duvet covers were winter tog and there were no fans available. we realise you can open the windows but fans and lighter duvets would be a good idea. The above isn't in any way a criticism of the cottage, it is very beautiful and I would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family.
