Guests say

Hillside is a spacious and well-equipped family home in Port Isaac, appreciated for its comfortable beds and proximity to the harbour and local amenities. Guests have enjoyed their stays, particularly noting the property's suitability for large groups and its excellent location for coastal walks.

Several reviews mention cleanliness issues, including dirty dishes, carpets, and general upkeep. However, some guests found the bedding and bathrooms clean.

The location is highly praised for being close to the harbour and local amenities, with easy access to coastal walks. However, concerns about fast-driving locals and limited outdoor space slightly affect the score.

Guests find the beds and pillows comfortable, and the property spacious for families. Some concerns about heating and a suggestion for an additional downstairs toilet are noted.

The property is well-equipped, but there are multiple reports of maintenance issues such as lukewarm showers, broken appliances, and plumbing problems. The need for updates and repairs is evident.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so this category cannot be scored.

Hillside is a lovely property with plenty of space and is well equipped for everything you could need. The property is located within 5 mins walk of the harbour with easy access to coastal walks. The only improvement would be for all the showers and kitchen to run hot water and perhaps a deep clean of the carpets on the top floor to remove the stains and a new bence outside.Throughly enjoyed our stay thank you very much.

Hillside was very average. We needed to put the crockery into the dishwasher for a clean. The showers in two of the bedrooms were lukewarm. Some of us needed to use the electric shower in the other bedroom. The water for washing up was not warm enough and had to be topped up with boiling water from the kettle and the bath water for our toddler also needed to be topped up with hot water from the kettle. We had to buy extra bin liners as only one was provided. One part of the oven didn’t work and the temperature did not reach the correct heat and so cooking took so long which was not ideal.Although the bedding was clean and the bathrooms were clean the overall cleanliness of the house was poor. The pop up waste of the basin in the en-suite didn’t work correctly. It was lovely to holiday in Port Isaac but we were all disappointed with Hillside.
