Guests say

Moonraker is highly praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and excellent facilities, including a hot tub. Nestled in Port Isaac, it offers a serene and warm stay even during winter storms. Guests appreciate the helpful owners and the property's proximity to the harbour and coastal walks. While the steep hill to the village may challenge some, the overall experience is deemed exceptional.

Guests consistently mention the property's cleanliness, describing it as 'very clean and comfortable' and 'beautifully maintained', indicating a high level of cleanliness.

The property is appreciated for its quiet location and short stroll to the harbour, shops, and restaurants. However, the steep hill and parking challenges slightly affect the score.

The property is described as comfortable and welcoming, with a warm atmosphere even in mid-winter. One mention of a tight dining area and a high back door step slightly impacts the score.

Facilities like the hot tub and summer house are highlighted as bonuses, and everything is reported to work properly. A single incident requiring an A&E visit due to a high step suggests a minor issue with maintenance.

While guests find the property and owners lovely, there is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches beyond the expected amenities, so this category cannot be scored.

This detached property offers private parking for two cars and the simply stunning traditional fishing village of Port Isaac is just a short stroll away.

The quaint harbour sitting above the sandy beach is a hive of activity with boats coming and going, and is lined with pubs and cafés. Why not enjoy a lazy lunch in the Michelin starred Nathan Outlaw’s harbour side Fish Kitchen, or simply enjoy a Cornish pasty on the beach? The pretty village is regularly used as a setting for fictional Port Wen in the Doc Martin TV series. There is golf at one of many excellent courses nearby from the Point at Polzeath, to Trevone or St Enodoc. Alternatively, why not take a fishing boat out and catch your supper for the barbecue?

The fishing town of Padstow is easily reached by ferry from nearby Rock. In Padstow you can hire bikes and cycle the Camel Trail, a flat, off road, multi use trail that hugs the shoreline of the Camel Estuary all the way up onto Bodmin Moor, passing through the towns of Wadebridge and Bodmin, both full of history and worth a stop for a coffee. The beaches of Polzeath, just minutes from Port Isaac, are great for surfing, and with many local schools and hire shops, this is the perfect opportunity to try this fast growing water sport.

The magical South West Coast Path has some of the most stunning walks and views you could imagine. The stretch from Polzeath to Padstow, which passes the Church of St Enodoc at Daymer Bay, the final resting place of Sir John Betjeman, is a favourite of locals and holidaymakers alike. Port Isaac is also a great base for touring, and Tintagel with its Arthurian legends, and Bodmin Moor with its literary connections, are easily reached, making Moonraker the perfect choice to not only enjoy Port Isaac but other wonderful parts of Cornwall too. Beach ½ mile. Shop 50 yards, pub 300 yards and restaurant 250 yards.

We have done a fair few air B&Bs in our time, and we would rate this one of the best if not the best, that we have used. Very clean and comfortable, everything there and works properly. lovely hottub, quiet, warm, even in mid winter and all the worst storms coming through, it was better than home. Owners could not have been more helpful. Even in mid winter, we loved it. And excellent value. Thank you very much.

A lovely bungalow home from home with a beautiful hot tub. The owners were very helpful and on hand if there was anything you needed to know.

Moonraker is a lovely welcoming place to stay, it has everything you could need for a comfortable week away. It is positioned at the top of Port Isaac, just a short stroll down to the harbour to shops/restaurant's and also the amazing coastal walks. We had a fabulous stay and would recommend.
