Westover Cottage is a delightful and deceptively spacious retreat created from two historic cottages, now joined to form one charming home in the sought-after coastal village of St Mawes. Set in a quiet corner just moments from the vibrant harbour, this dog-friendly cottage blends period features with modern comfort, making it ideal for families or groups of up to six guests.
Inside, the home offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere with a carefully considered layout. Enter through a slate-floored porch with coat hooks and boot storage, leading into a hallway that opens onto the first of two comfortable sitting rooms. The main lounge features exposed beams, an L-shaped sofa seating up to seven, Sky TV, a DVD player, music centre, record player, and an electric fire, perfect for cosy evenings.
The second sitting room, also with exposed beams, is a lovely spot for reading or relaxing, with additional seating, a desk and a television. At the heart of the home is a beautifully finished slate-floored kitchen and dining area. Well-equipped with modern appliances including a double electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, and everything needed for home-cooked meals, this is truly the social hub of the house.
Westover offers three comfortable bedrooms and three bathrooms, accessed via two sets of stairs. The master bedroom features a king-size bed, and there is also a twin bedroom and a family bathroom featuring a bath with shower over, wash basin and WC. A second staircase leads to a charming en-suite twin bedroom with its own shower room and lovely sea views.
The cottage also boasts a newly built utility area at the rear, ideal for storing beach gear and wetsuits, with a washing machine and a spacious shower room.
Outside, the large, enclosed terrace gives peace of mind to those with children and pets , it’s sun-drenched throughout the day, and equipped with a dining set for six and a barbecue, ideal for relaxed alfresco meals. There is off-road parking for one vehicle at the front of the cottage. St Mawes, with its picturesque harbour, excellent restaurants, pubs, bakeries, and boutique shops, is just a short walk away. You can even hop on the ferry to Falmouth for a day of exploring.

The N Family
Great place to stay if visiting St Mawes and the surrounding area. Very well equipped mid-terraced house that is deceptively spacious. Layout provides a lot of flexibility, as the second twin room is effectively a small annex on the other side of a second lounge area. Really useful utility area to the rear with a separate large sink and shower room. Ideal for storage and wet suits etc. Parking fine for 1 car, we parked an estate with no issues. Additional parking in the public car park would work but we didn't need to use that. Just a few minutes down (v.steep) hill to the harbour and ferry etc. Just keep something in reserve for the climb back. Front seating terraced area is great and fenced in secure if you have young children or a pet. St Mawes has plenty to offer pub and restaurant wise and the co-op is excellent.
