Also the "front" door seemed to be sticking due to damp and wood swelling I would guess? Apart from that the cottage was as good as any I have stayed in in the UK, thank you.

A lovely house that was warm cosy and had everything we needed we plan to visit again in the future! We briefly met the housekeeper who had sent us a very welcoming message on the day of our arrival and who clearly does an amazing job of looking after the house.

The Victorian house and it's location exceeded our expectations. We know the area and particularly liked the walk up to the coastal path overlooking Trebarwith Bay, then round robin back to the cottage via Gull Rock House. There are good views from the front windows over pasture fields towards The Strand and The Rumps in the distance. The Rear Garden was secure for our hound dog Bertie but the front garden was for the most part unusable due to the road and no front gate. Within, the house was well equipped, the beds were comfortable and we can see the owners investment and care in creating a holiday feel. Through a big storm we felt protected and when the sun shone we were booting up for another walk or a trip to the tidal beach, setting up our days according to the low tides. There are some maintenance issues. The bathroom sink and hob are cracked, the shower head bracket would not hold it's angle in place so showering is easier hand-held within the bath. The rear patio furniture could do with an update and the middle gate latch needs attention as it blew open a few times. Minor points though not detracting from our enyoyable break... we were sad to leave and would book again.
