Our Pawsome Cornwall Adventure 🐶We were two very important German Shepherd explorers, accompanied by our eight humans, on a BIG adventure to Cornwall… and wow, what a trip it was!First things first—Yardley House? Absolutely pawsome. As soon as we arrived, our humans were given a proper welcome with lots of helpful details and a little tour of the local area (we were mostly sniffing everything, obviously). There was even a bottle of bubbly, fresh local bread, and biscuits waiting… sadly, we were told “not for dogs” (rude). The house had everything our humans needed—tea, coffee, sugar, cleaning bits, and all the gear to keep things tidy. Not that we made any mess at all… obviously 👀Now, here’s where things got extra special. Two of our humans mum and dad decided to renew their vows in the shared garden they been married 25 years. Wow what a victory. We supervised very closely (lots of sitting, watching, and tail wagging), and the view? Even we were impressed—and we’re usually more into balls than scenery. We do need to mention a couple of things though (we’re responsible dogs, after all). Our mum is partially sighted, and the stair gate was a bit tricky—it didn’t feel very secure and both mum and one of the smaller humans (who’s autistic) had a tumble over it. We think it might need fixing properly, as balancing it like it was isn’t the safest. Also… that little wire fence by the decking? Yeah… not exactly a challenge for two adventurous German Shepherds like us 😏 Mum had to keep a very close eye on us because we were VERY keen to go say hello to the neighbours (we just wanted cuddles and new friends!). A sturdier fence would definitely help keep bigger dogs like us safely contained. On the plus side, the hut was a lovely little touch—10/10 for cosy vibes. There’s also a side gate straight down to the beach. It’s a bit steep, but don’t worry—we made sure to pull our humans along so they didn’t struggle too much. Teamwork makes the dream work right?!!The local shop? AMAZING. The humans say the people are friendly, but we say the best part is the treats they give us when mum goes shopping. We highly recommend. And the pubs? Just a short walk away (or a quick zoom if you’ve got four legs). The The Inn at the Shore is dog-friendly and serves incredibly tasty food—well, according to our humans… All in all, we had the BEST time. We’d absolutely love to come back again (as long as there are treats involved, of course).Thank you for having us—it truly is a wonderful place for a holiday.Lots of love,🐾 The Two German Shepherds (and our eight humans) 🐾

We had an amazing holiday. The house had a home from home feel, is in a great location (if you’re looking for a quiet place to relax and unwind) and the beach is lovely. 20 minute drive into Looe if you’re looking for something a bit busier on a few days of your holiday. Mark was a wonderful host, nothing was too much and he called on the last day of our holiday to ensure we had a good time. After a not so great 6 months, this is exactly what my family needed. We had fun, relaxed and most importantly made lots of new memories. If we visit Downderry (or any of the close surrounding areas) again this is where we will be staying.
