My family have just spent a very relaxing time in the Old Farmhouse. From the moment we walked in, we appreciated how spotless and comfortable everything was. The bedrooms were all tastefully decorated with very comfortable mattresses on the beds. The showers were all hot and a great start to the day, before we set out on our excursions. The kitchen was well equipped with everything in a perfect position and we spent many a night enjoying our evening meal there, rather than the designated dining room. The front room was very cosy and steeped in history. The only minus points, which is being hypercritical, was the parking. Unfortunately, there was pipe work being performed and every day it was a challenge to get in and out of the property, but the workmen were very accommodating and helpful. A heads up would have been appreciated before we arrived, but maybe the owner was unaware. Finally, the directions were a lot to be desired as there is no names on the roads leading up to the house in any direction and because of the pipework being done, the roads which we had to travel on, were all signposted 'closed', but fortunately they weren't. Also, luckily, we did not have to arrive in the dark, because I don't think we would have found the property. Chard might only be a few miles away for supplies, but the country roads made it an experience we will never forget. Overall, we had a very comfortable, peaceful stay and thank the owners for our time to see the sights of Dorset, Devon and Somerset.

We were disappointed with our stay due to visible black mould throughout the cottage. The issue was significant enough that we documented it with photographs and raised our concerns with both the property owners and the managing company during and after our stay. Our main frustration was not only the condition of the property but the way our concerns were handled. Rather than feeling that the issue was taken seriously or properly investigated, we felt our observations were dismissed.I appreciate that older properties can sometimes experience damp and mould problems but guests should be able to raise concerns without feeling ignored. We attempted to resolve this privately before leaving a review but unfortunately were unable to reach a satisfactory outcome.I am leaving this review so that future guests can make an informed decision and ask questions about the property's condition before booking.
