This converted, detached Grade II listed barn, located on a quiet sheep farm, has far-reaching views across the Axe Valley towards Seaton. It has been awarded 4 stars by Visit Britain and would be ideal for two to three families accommodated in 5 bedrooms with 5 bathrooms. The heating comes from a wood biomass boiler, and the electricity is aided by a 50kw solar panel array.

Step inside this traditional property and you’ll be greeted by a cosy living/dining room with an archway leading into the kitchen. Comfortable furniture and a warming wood burner in the living room creates the perfect atmosphere for relaxing after a busy day exploring, with beams and exposed brickwork adding to the charm. The well-equipped kitchen provides everything you need for cooking up holiday feasts to share with the whole family. Upstairs the five bedrooms promise a good night’s sleep to get you ready for further adventures the following day.

You have freedom to roam 150 acres of green fields with a stream and woodland or sit out on the enclosed private patio with its water fountain and revel in the beautiful scenery or watch the wildlife and farm animals. A children’s play area is available with nature walks and picnic sites. Seaton with its mile long beach is 2 miles away with the famous Seaton and District Electric Tramway, golf, fishing, and superb cliff walks.

The seaside resort of Lyme Regis, with its Cobb, offers good sailing and water-skiing. Visit the Donkey Sanctuary, Broadwindsor Craft Centre, Crealy Adventure Playground at Exeter or Bicton Park Gardens at Budleigh. The Blackdown Hills where gorse-clad hilltops descend through to secluded wooded valleys. Walkers will delight in reaching the Duke of Wellington’s monument. Shop 1½ miles. Pub and restaurant 1 mile.

    We had a fabulous stay at the Granary. The kitchen was filled with everything you could possibly need for home cooking and plenty of crockery. The house was spotless and picturesque and we loved the view from the hill in the field.

    A very comfortable and well appointed house in a delightful location. The accommodation is ideal for a large family group, with five good-sized bedrooms and five bathrooms, generous living space and a spacious kitchen. The location on the farm is very pleasant, and the surrounding countryside is simply delightful.We would thoroughly recommend The Granary as a holiday destination.
