Guests say

Woody View is a well-regarded cottage in Devon, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and well-equipped nature. Guests appreciate the quiet location, lovely views, and the addition of a summerhouse. While some minor issues were noted, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many looking forward to returning.

The majority of guests found the property to be spotlessly clean, contributing to a pleasant stay. One review mentioned a fusty smell and an unflushed toilet, but this seems to be an isolated incident.

The property is well-situated for exploring East Devon, with easy access to local attractions and beaches. The quiet cul-de-sac is appreciated, though one guest mentioned a steep hill and another noted noise from seagulls.

Guests found the beds comfortable and the property well-furnished, contributing to a relaxing stay. There was a single mention of a noisy single bed and light disturbance, but overall, comfort levels were high.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped house and landscaped garden. However, some guests found the technology instructions confusing and one noted difficulty with the shower temperature control.

While guests have not mentioned any gifts, the presence of tissue boxes with notes to refill and recycle suggests a degree of thoughtfulness. However, as there is no direct reference to gifts or special touches, a score cannot be provided.

We enjoyed the beach and shops at Sidmouth. Roly's fudge is a must from there! Ice creams at West Bay are great. Dorchester is a lovely town to visit.

Weather was good and enjoyed the surrounding coastline - we love this area - Donkey Sanctuary, Sidmouth, Seaton Tram, Lyme Regis, Pasties, Fish and Chips, and Cream Teas, plus a few pubs! Thank you Woody View!

The first thing we had to do was open all the windows as it smelled fusty, like sweaty socks. That didn't work so we had to buy some air freshener. The downstairs toilet had been left unflushed and the kettle in the kitchen had been left half full of water. Something in the bathroom gave me an allergic reaction each time I went in but I couldn't pinpoint what - my wife was unaffected and it is usually her that is sensitive with allergies. Bed in main bedroom very comfortable but sleep disturbance due to street light opposite shining through the curtains. (We have black out curtains at home). Location in cul-de-sac is very quiet apart from the Monday morning seagulls very noisily screeching whilst attacking and emptying the food waste bins which woke us early. Single bed in front bedroom noisy when moving about. Marks on carpet in main bedroom. Not impressed with the plethora of tissue boxes with notes stuck on them saying to refill and recycle. Unhygienic to do that and perhaps only one box might have been left as they only cost 59 pence in Aldi. Property was clean, otherwise but, unnecessarily, let down by the above.
