The property is well located for those wanting to explore further afield, with a variety of coastal locations including Lyme Regis, Sidmouth and Beer just half an hour’s drive away. There are plenty of options to entertain younger members of the group, with Axe Valley Wildlife Park, Crealy Theme Park, Seaton Tramway and Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary providing entertaining days out. Dartmoor National Park is only an hour’s drive. Or if exploring historic buildings is your preference, there are several National Trust locations close by including Barrington Court and Lytes Cary. Exeter and Taunton are both within a 45-minute drive. Where do I start what a beautiful house we stayed in the hosts John and Kate couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect…. We were a family of 6 adults and 2 children under the the age of 2 and half… They provided everything from the stair gates, travel cot to toys, books, bath toys and baby bath. There was nothing we needed that wasn’t there. The kids loved playing with the toys and books. And then there was the special touch of a homemade lemon cake (delicious). Beautiful countryside and easy access to the beaches…. And how could I forget about the games room what a bonus. Cinema, pool table and table football comfy sofas…. I could go on and on about this beautiful house…. We will be backThank you for the perfect stay best family holiday we have had.

Had a fabulous week away. The house is really well equipped with everything you will need. Kate and John are very accommodating and the lemon drizzle cake and personal touches make your stay extra special. The jams are lovely and great on toast in the morning. Lots of lovely local places to visit, the Kings Arms was lovely for dinner and the Yarcombe Inn was a fabulous night out. Would highly recommend The Farmhouse at Ley Farm.

Quite simply, that was the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. The house was spotless when we arrived and the lemon cake was a lovely touch. The owners were lovely and even offered to help when one of our cocker spaniels escaped - thankfully recovered in 30 mins. We had a relaxing week, exploring the local area and staying around the cottage and enjoying the outside sitting areas and the games room. It was fun learning to cook on the Aga. I can't recommend highly enough.
