Whitehall Farm Cottage in Devon is highly praised for its welcoming hosts, comfortable beds, and beautiful setting amidst wildlife and countryside. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, spaciousness, and the thoughtful touches like homemade cakes. Some noted the seating could be more comfortable for those with mobility issues.
The cottage is consistently described as very clean, with only a single mention of a minor issue with dampness and a water leak, which does not seem to detract significantly from the overall experience.
The location is frequently highlighted as beautiful and ideal for exploring Devon, with its rolling hills, wildlife, and proximity to Honiton and other attractions.
While the beds are praised for their comfort, several reviews mention that the seating in the lounge is low and could be more comfortable, particularly for older guests or those with mobility issues.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and spacious rooms. However, there are comments about the lack of storage for clothes and minor maintenance issues like a leak and damp patches.
Guests frequently mention the thoughtful gestures of the hosts, such as homemade cakes on arrival. While these gifts are greatly appreciated, it's important to note that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed with every stay.

Very well equally kitchen and very comfy beds. The owner left us a lovely homemade cake on arrival which was very much appreciated. The only things that would have made this cottage perfection for us would be better seating in the lounge, as the sofa is very low, slouchy and uncomfortable, the other option is some hard wicker chairs. Also, apart from the bathroom mirror over the sinks upstairs there are no other large mirrors, only one portable A4 sized mirror between the 3 bedrooms.

Homebaked chocolate cake greeted us on arrival and the house was cosy and suited our needs perfectly. Great few games/toys for kids (the dressing-up box was a total hit) and the cottage had all the facilities you'd expect. If you're the kind of person who likes to unpack there's not a huge amount of storage space, but as we tend to keep our clothes in our bags on a short stay that wasn't a problem. Sofa was also quite low so 'oldies' might struggle a bit. That said, we loved it and would recommend!

It's a home from home and has everything you need, a well equipped kitchen and a welcoming lounge with log burner. The beds are very comfortable. The owners are lovely and helpful, and left us a homemade Victoria sponge which was delicious. We'd love to visit again.
