Penylan is a well-loved cottage in Seaton, praised for its spaciousness, well-kept garden, and convenient location within walking distance to the beach and town. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and the provision of entertainment for rainy days. The property exudes a homely feel, making it an ideal base for a relaxing holiday.
The property is generally described as clean and well-presented. One review mentioned the need to clean the bath before use, but this seems to be an isolated incident rather than a common concern.
The location is highly praised for being quiet yet within easy walking distance to Seaton's centre, beach, and coastal tracks, making it an excellent spot for a holiday stay.
Guests find the property comfortable, with special mentions of the comfortable beds and spacious living areas. There were some concerns about drafts from windows and heating issues, but overall, comfort levels are rated highly.
The property boasts well-equipped facilities, especially in the kitchen. However, there are some remarks about windows not closing fully and unpredictable heating, suggesting room for improvement in maintenance.
While guests have not explicitly mentioned gifts, they have expressed appreciation for the well-thought-out amenities and information provided. As such, there is not enough information to score thoughtfulness based on gifts, and it should be noted that any additional treats are a bonus rather than a guarantee.

Beds made and we liked the Welcome Pack. Our only issue was with the detailed instructions kindly left by the owners. The house felt chilly especially upstairs, and we looked through the instructions to up the temperature. The radiators were unresponsive and we couldnât raise the temperature in the kitchen. We looked everywhere for the thermostat, without success (we found it when we were leaving!). We phoned the helpline line which was closed and didnât feel it warranted an emergency call, so we went next door and Lee looked but couldnât find the thermostat either. He phoned the owner who hadnât realised there were tenants this week, and promptly activated the heater using his phone. The house then became warm and was perfect for the stay. The gardens are beautiful too.

Clean and well presented, and gardens maintained to a very high standard. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Three large bedrooms: 2 double bedded & 1 twin bedded, a bathroom & shower room & a downstairs toilet. The kitchen is huge & very well equipped with plenty of cupboard space to store your own dry goods. But it's the garden that made it for my sister, my friend & me. We were incredibly lucky to have nice weather & could sit outside each morning & eat our breakfast. I hope to return sometime in the future
