Behind the owner's farmhouse a mile from Plymtree is this single storey cottage converted from an old dairy. Comfortable and cosy, it is friendly accommodation for small families or couples. Head up the five little ramped steps into your open plan living space with snug seating area with TV, dining area and well equipped kitchen for preparing meals. The two bedrooms are both welcoming spaces to relax after walking the surrounding footpaths or visiting the coast. As well as a pretty shared courtyard, you have your own enclosed garden with a picnic table and barbecue for alfresco meals whilst soaking up the countryside views, as well as a fun summer house for children to play in, equipped with games and books, and an open sided games barn with table tennis and table football. Dogs kept strictly on leads on the grounds of the property due to livestock. There is good village pub to settle down in at the end of the day. With the M5 within easy reach, there is good access for touring Devon, especially around the old towns of Honiton and Cullompton. Exeter is a fine cathedral city to explore and the coast around Sidmouth and Lyme Regis is lovely. The Milk Shed is a charming base for discovering the delights of Devon. The owner lives nearby and runs a B&B in her house which is open year-round.

Unfortunately for us the weather wasnât ideal for sitting outside but the main courtyard is a lovely sun trap and perfect for that morning coffee. The master bedroom is a great size, the bathroom and shower lovely and the kitchen/dining/living area is compact but had plenty of space for the pair of us and our two Springer spaniels. The kitchen area is well laid out if you want to cook, with plenty of pans and crockery (although lacking a knife block). Whilst not critical in such a peaceful location, a bigger tv would help those with children or those of us whose eyesight isnât as great as it once wasâ¦! The location is terrific, with plenty of woodland walks, beaches nearby and a plethora of pubs to choose from. Jayne is a wonderful and welcoming host, and we thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at the Milk Shed.
