This wonderful holiday property is idyllically situated on the edge of the pretty village of Sidbury, close to the lovely seaside town of Sidmouth, with timeless views across the meadows towards the river and the surrounding hills. The Piglet is an apartment above the owner’s garage in a quiet part of the 10-acre grounds. It is open plan with a spacious bedroom with en-suite shower with underfloor heating and there is a small kitchen area. It is set in a protected Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a few minutes’ walk to the local pub, village shop and adjacent to the East Devon Way footpath. It is a peaceful holiday retreat in which to relax and unwind whilst also being a great base from which to explore. There is a garden area 100 yards from the property along the banks of the river and small waterfall, ideal for al fresco dining or a glass of wine or two.
There are many places to visit in this amazing part of East Devon. The cathedral city of Exeter is less than a half hour drive away. Take a walk along the Jurassic Coastal Path with amazing scenery and towns with plenty of shops and cafés. This is the perfect location for birdwatching, walking, fishing, golf and water sports, and there are many National Trust properties all close by. Dartmoor and Exmoor are both worth a visit. Take a walk on the tors, see the ponies or stop in one of the many charming villages for a traditional Devon cream tea. Beach 2 miles. Supermarket 2 miles. Shop and pub ¼ mile.

The piglet had everything we needed and was the perfect balance of being rural but well placed for getting out and about. Fell asleep looking at the stars and woke up to the sound of bird song!

We loved our stay at the Piglet.It was a lovely and characterful place that had everything we needed, we loved the skylight in the bedroom and bathroom so you can look at the stars if you wish to.It also had a lovely view of a cornfield from the one window by the dining table.The owners left us some scones on arrival which was a lovely surprise.I would definitely recommend staying at the Piglet and Sidmouth, Beer and Branscombe bay are all just a short drive away.
