All the properties at Horselake have a private garden or courtyard, whilst enjoying the freedom to roam the grounds and make the most of the shared facilities. Ideal for exploring South Devon with its stunning coastline, and resorts such as Dawlish and Teignmouth. Rugged Dartmoor is only a short drive, and many family attractions are within easy reach including National Trust-owned Castle Drogo, Fingle Bridge, the Teign Gorge, and Canonteign Falls and Country Park. The properties are within 10 miles of the old cathedral city of Exeter, with its many varied attractions including a racecourse, shopping, antique shops, guided tours and a host of summer festivals. Fishing on the River Teign, 3 miles. Golf 4 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant within 1 mile.

The cottage sleeps 4…. But, in our opinion, NOT 4 adults. It would be ok for a family of 2 adults/2 children. The bedroom with single beds is far too small to accommodate 2 adults. The double room is a good size, but the mattress needs changing. It’s quite lumpy & sags on one side. Our main issue was the lighting downstairs, it was very dim & we had to take two lamps from upstairs to give some extra light. As board game players & book readers, it wasn’t great. Only having two 2 seater sofas was also rather limiting. It would have been nice to be able to put your feet up as it were. The overall feel of the cottage is ‘tiny’. Hence the opinion it’s not suited for 4 adults. The cleanliness was great. The kitchen had everything you needed, the outdoor seating area was lovely. The pool is an added bonus, although it does include a bit of a steep walk down to it. It’s lovely & secluded & being heated was tremendous. The grounds are well kept & it was great for the dogs to run around. You are very close to the A30 & road noise can be a bit annoying. Overall, Shiela ( our host) was Informative, helpful & pleasant. She has a lovely complex & the location is ideal for exploring Devon. However, for us, the cottage was far too small & maybe it should highlight its better for a ‘family’.

Discovery is a lovely compact cottage with everything you could wish for and very clean. Use of the swimming pool and pool table and darts along with the grounds full of apple trees for walking the dog was lovely and very handy on a hot day. The cottage is self catering and due to its location this is a must as there is one pub within walking distance other than that it is quite a drive to find dinner!
