About this property

In the rolling Devonshire countryside in the cleft of the Teign Valley hills and on the fringes of Dartmoor National Park is Primrose Barn, a luxury barn conversion offering contemporary accommodation for a family or group wanting to immerse themselves in the picturesque Devonshire landscape. Access the property via a farm driveway and find ample off-road parking for up to three cars, taking in the pretty rural views that surround you and the sound of the peaceful stream (fenced) that flows alongside the property as you make your way inside. Upon entering, you will find a stylish neutral décor, lovely hard wood floors and a high-quality finish in the open-plan living room, which boasts plush sofas you can relax onto whilst enjoying a favourite film on the TV as the woodburning stove crackles in the background and fills the room with warmth. The sleek kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances you could wish for, including a double oven, American-style fridge/freezer and dishwasher, with a large island and breakfast bar area where you can prep ingredients and sit down for a quick snack, while group meals can be enjoyed together at the dining table. The focal point of the space is the floor to ceiling picture windows that showcase the garden and rural views, with bi-fold doors that opening up onto a large patio, where you can make the most of the sunshine and sit out with a glass of wine or an alfresco lunch, while the children run around on the spacious lawn. Evenings can be spent firing up the barbecue and soaking up the tranquil setting under the peaceful evening sky. When the evening draws to a close, make your way to one of three inviting bedrooms; a bright and airy king-size double with ample storage and an en-suite shower room rests on the ground floor. Ground floor contemporary family bathroom suite, which offers a choice of bath and shower over. Upstairs you will discover an additional king-size and a twin room with zip/link feature resting peacefully under the eaves and boasting wonderful views from their Velux windows. There are two wonderful pubs, including the renowned The Nobody Inn, in Doddiscombsleigh village, within walking distance of the property, where you can enjoy a refreshing pint or glass of wine after an afternoon spent exploring the picturesque Teign Valley on foot, with many walking trails through rolling farmland hills and the nearby enchanting Haldon Forest. For a more adrenaline-filled activity, why not try your hand at rock climbing or go kayaking on the River Teign Discover Dartmoor National Park for more walking and cycling opportunities amidst incredible rural landscapes, as well as attractions like the waterfall of Canonteign Falls, set amongst fern gardens and scenic lakes, and Becky Falls Ancient Woodland Park. For a slight change of pace, explore the university city of Exeter, with its range of shops, bars, restaurants and remarkable architecture, which includes its Gothic cathedral, well-preserved city walls and its 11th century castle, surrounded by the landscaped Northernhay Gardens. For a relaxing beach outing, head to the traditional seaside town of Dawlish, which has a host of family-friendly attractions, as well as access to the South West Coast Path, which runs right through the town. Make Primrose Barn, part of the Helpful Holidays collection, the base for an unforgettable holiday in Devon.
