Set in the tranquil Teign Valley, Teign Vale makes the most of its position, with a staggering 16 metres of bi-fold doors opening out to a tiled balcony overlooking the beautiful river.
Teign Vale is a beautifully renovated holiday cottage, nestled in the picturesque woodlands of the Teign Valley. The accommodation is all on one level with no internal steps or lips.
A modern and attractive tiled balcony looks out over the river, woods and landscape, the perfect place for spotting birds and wildlife – deer regularly track from the river to the woods. The river is also home to salmon, trout and a family of otters; and there is half a mile of fishing bank.
Inside the property en-suite bedrooms with super-king size beds, two of which can be configured as twin singles beds on request. All the rooms have bi-folding doors that open out onto the balcony, so you could open them all open to create a unique outdoor/indoor space. The large, lawned and level garden is around an acre in size and is the perfect place for children – or adults! – to run around. There’s also a barbecue and fire pit in the garden, along with a separate games barn with a pool table, fridge, dart board and television, perfect for teenagers to escape to.
If you’ve come here for the scenery, there are walks through the woods right from the door; and you can wash off those muddy boots – or dogs – in the Belfast sink with running hot and cold water at the side of the property.
Additional Information:
Beautiful woodland walk along the river bank and through the seasonal flowers of bluebells and daffodils.
Games room with fridge, pool table, dart board (please bring your own darts), television and comfy chairs.
Please bring your own darts for the dartboard.
Fringle pub and Castle Drogo are an hour walk through the woods.
The property is located close to a river so children should be supervised.
Due to neighbouring livestock, fireworks are not permitted at any time of year please.
Two well-behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge).
Highchair, travel cot and stair gate available on request.

We had a lovely holiday at Ian and Sarah’s place. We loved the property and its surroundings. The house was very well equipped and we enjoyed the possibility to use the barbecue. Ian kindly shared with us his telescope, which allowed us to see all the animals living in the area. We will certainly recommend Teign Vale cottage to friends and, perhaps, come back again one day in the future.

It's a beautiful place - location AND property. You do have to cope with some narrow country lanes if you want to go anywhere but it is worth it! The games room is a bonus ... we spent quite a few happy evenings playing pool and darts. We paddled and swam in the river. Ian was great before we arrived giving us all the information we needed and some recommendations. We were there on a very hot week, so some extra blinds/curtains in the main living area would have been useful to hold back the sun. But being able to fling open all the bifold doors on to such an amazing view across the valley was fantastic. The property had everything we needed and was maintained at a very high standard. Oh and the fire pit was great for making smores! I would definitely recommend this property.

Upside It was a lovely clean place with beautiful views and plenty of space. Very relaxing base and well kitted out with most things one needs. Good quality hamper provided. Stunning garden well looked after by Pat. I saw two beautiful deer and wonderful butterflies in the meadow below house. Heard some different birds on my Merlin App than I do at home in the Cotswolds Downside 1. I couldn’t get through to the footpaths from edge of lower field at the end of June beginning of July because of height of ferns, brambles and stinging nettles! This was compensated by a drive to Fingle woods to use their paths. 2. Only one of the three fans present was working and it was a hot week
