Set in the tranquil Teign Valley, Teign Vale makes the most of its position, with a staggering 16 metres of bi-fold doors opening out to a tiled balcony overlooking the beautiful river.
Teign Vale is a beautifully renovated holiday cottage, nestled in the picturesque woodlands of the Teign Valley. The accommodation is all on one level with no internal steps or lips.
A modern and attractive tiled balcony looks out over the river, woods and landscape, the perfect place for spotting birds and wildlife – deer regularly track from the river to the woods. The river is also home to salmon, trout and a family of otters; and there is half a mile of fishing bank.
Inside the property en-suite bedrooms with super-king size beds, two of which can be configured as twin singles beds on request. All the rooms have bi-folding doors that open out onto the balcony, so you could open them all open to create a unique outdoor/indoor space. The large, lawned and level garden is around an acre in size and is the perfect place for children – or adults! – to run around. There’s also a barbecue and fire pit in the garden, along with a separate games barn with a pool table, fridge, dart board and television, perfect for teenagers to escape to.
If you’ve come here for the scenery, there are walks through the woods right from the door; and you can wash off those muddy boots – or dogs – in the Belfast sink with running hot and cold water at the side of the property.
Additional Information:
Beautiful woodland walk along the river bank and through the seasonal flowers of bluebells and daffodils.
Games room with fridge, pool table, dart board (please bring your own darts), television and comfy chairs.
Please bring your own darts for the dartboard.
Fringle pub and Castle Drogo are an hour walk through the woods.
The property is located close to a river so children should be supervised.
Due to neighbouring livestock, fireworks are not permitted at any time of year please.
Two well-behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge).
Highchair, travel cot and stair gate available on request.

Teign Vale cottage is the perfect retreat for those wishing to get away from all the hassle, crowds and distractions of everyday living. It offers a fantastic elevated view of the valley with the river Teign running through the lower field. The accommodation itself is beautifully presented and surrounded by well kept gardens and lawns. The area offers some really nice walks, some easy strolls along the river and some more energetic walks up to the Heath. It is in easy reach of the moors as well as the Devon south coast. The lanes leading to the property are single track roads with passing places, so be prepared to meet the odd farm vehicle during your stay. If you love nature and wildlife you couldn’t choose a better holiday destination.

Comfortable well-appointed property in a beautiful setting. Works well in fine weather. Otherwise the living area can feel a little ‘minimalist’ and stark so not particularly cosy. But the terrace and bi-fold doors are superb in the sunshine. Fairly remote with Devon lanes in a poor state following a wet winter making driving tricky.
