The Bungalow in Topsham offers a prime location with easy access to local amenities and nature reserves, ideal for exploring Devon. Guests appreciate the quiet setting, ample parking, and dog-friendly environment. The spacious accommodation with a garden is a highlight, although some guests noted dated decor and minor maintenance issues.
Cleanliness is generally good, with several guests describing the property as clean and tidy. However, there are mentions of floors not being spotless upon arrival, spiders, and some dirty bedding, which suggests room for improvement.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to the train station, Topsham centre, and nature reserves. It's considered excellent for estuary and coastal walks, as well as access to Exeter.
The bungalow is described as warm and comfortable, with a spacious dining area and living room. However, some guests found the seating in the living room and the size of the towels to be less than ideal.
Facilities are generally appreciated, especially the well-supplied kitchen. Nonetheless, guests have noted issues such as non-working lights, a loose toilet seat, and a lack of oven gloves, which indicates a need for better maintenance.
There is no mention of gifts or extra thoughtful touches provided by the hosts, such as welcome packs or complimentary items, so it is not possible to assess this category.
The Bungalow is a great place to stay whilst enjoying all Devon has to offer, and is close to the Exe estuary and nature reserves.. 1 step to entrance.

The Bungalow is located at the end of a quiet cul de sac, close to the charming centre of the old port of Topsham. You can catch the passenger ferry across the Exe estuary, or enjoy a sunset drink in one of the local riverside venues. On the Exe estuary itself, midway between the old port of Topsham and the seaside resort of Exmouth, the beautiful sandy beaches and rock pools are at the start of the Jurassic Coast and form part of the South West Coastal Path. The estuary has a picturesque harbour and is a renowned nature reserve, which is a haven for wildlife and migrating birds, a wide range of which can be observed along the edges of the estuary.
Crealy Adventure Park is just 3 miles away, and for cyclists there are many cycle ways, one running from Exmouth, through Lympstone and onto Topsham and the Exeter canal, following the river for most of the way. There are many National Trust properties all waiting to be explored, and Darts Farm, a short distance away, is worth a visit and where you can stop and enjoy a meal. The city of Exeter is within easy reach and has great shopping, a historic cathedral, a theatre and the underground passages attraction. Woodbury common is on the doorstep, and Dartmoor is an easy drive, both offering great walking and scenery. Beach 7 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

Great location with free parking. Bungalow was clean and warm (stayed in feb). Happy to realise there was a shower room with toilet AND a separate toilet as well. Kitchen was very well supplied with utensils. Only criticism would be living room could do with another comfy sofa as found the small grey one and pink armchair uncomfortable. However we would return if in area again.

Overall, excellent!

We both had a lovely time in this excellently located and warm bungalow. The only improvements that I would suggest is to check for light bulbs that need replacing. When we were there the light outside the front door wasn’t working nor the light in the 3rd (twin) bedroom. Also the toilet seat in the shower room needed securing. But otherwise it was lovely and close to all the facilities. Only a short stroll to Bowling Green nature reserve and a short walk to the famous Dart’s farm. We would definitely stay here again.
