Guests say

The Old Telephone Exchange offers a peaceful and tranquil retreat with stunning views and a quiet location, making it an ideal base for exploring the Exeter area. Guests appreciate the fresh bedding, well-equipped kitchen, and responsive owner. However, some reviews mention issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and limited space for belongings. The property is best suited for those seeking a simple, rural getaway, though it may not be ideal for guests with accessibility needs.

Several guests noted issues with dust, musty smells, stained towels, and areas needing a more thorough clean. While some found the bedding fresh, overall cleanliness was a recurring concern.

The cottage is praised for its quiet, peaceful setting, beautiful views, and convenient access to local attractions and transport links, making it a standout feature.

Guests enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere and fresh bedding, but some found the bathroom small and storage limited. The property is not suitable for those with accessibility needs.

The cottage is generally well-equipped, with off-road parking and a garden. Some appliances have been updated, but issues with the toaster, DVD player, and fridge were noted, along with suggestions for additional items.

A guest mentioned leaving a replacement toaster as a thank you, but such gestures are not guaranteed. The owner is described as responsive and helpful when issues arise.

Hi,Unfortunately we had to return home immediately because my disable child could not accept the accommodation due to its poor standards and unacceptable cleanliness. On arrival we found - dirty and unhygienic conditions in the room, toilet and kitchen.- standards that did not mach what was advertised or reasonably expected. - a complete lack of suitability for disabled guests needs. The accommodation caused significant distress to my child. We therefore request a full refund for the unused stay.
