Copplestone 1.5 miles. This luxurious wooden lodge is set in the owners' grounds, less than two miles from the village of Copplestone and thirteen miles from Exeter. The beautifully furnished, single-storey holiday home feels spacious, light and has views of green Devon meadows from all windows, so you really feel away from it all. The open plan living area, consisting of a well-equipped kitchen, dining area and comfortable sitting area, has wide patio doors to the veranda which is a sunny area for alfresco dining. Once the evening has closed in, curl up in front of the woodburner in the sitting area and relax in comfort. Theres two large double bedrooms, one with an en-suite and one with a bathroom across the hallway. Also the utility room is particularly useful for boot drying, laundry and useful extra space. The lodge stands in its own enclosed garden with plenty of off road parking and where you can sit, watch and listen to the multitude of birds and wildlife, whilst enjoying a cold drink or a morning coffee. Copplestone village has a shop and pub and provides one of the stops on The Tarka Line, a well-known railway line that takes you on a scenic journey between Exeter and Barnstaple. Also for golfers in your party theres the convenience of a golf course just down the road from the lodge. The Two Moors Way also passes by the lodge and the rural village of Down St Mary is within walking distance and fishing is also available locally. Dartmoor National Park is only half an hour's drive away, where you can enjoy walks, treks on Dartmoor ponies and many stone circles and prehistoric monuments. Also within reach is the cathedral city of Exeter, which is only a twenty minute drive away and boasts a lively mix of theatre, shops and restaurants. This wonderful lodge is a superb base for a countryside retreat.
The mid Devon village of Copplestone is situated in lovely green countryside, four miles from the town of Crediton and a twenty minute drive from the cathedral city of Exeter. Copplestone has a shop and pub, as well as the Copplestone Cross, which is said to mark the centre of Devon, with many believing it dates back to the 10th century. There's also a station at Copplestone, from where you can catch a train on the renowned Tarka Line.

Very handy to drive to Credition, Exeter, Dawlish & Tiverton. Lots of attractions nearby so all in all, a very good base. We had a lovely stay for a week and would certainly recommend it.
