The area is fabulous for walking, cycling and bird watching, with Exmoor close by with wonderful scenery and dramatic coastlines. Exeter and Taunton are a short drive offering shops, theatres and restaurants, or visit the beaches of North Devon and even the Jurassic Coast. There are several National Trust properties and gardens in the area, including Knightshayes Court and grounds. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

Had a lovely weekend break at La Challette@Timbertops. Hosts Sarah & Michael were great very warm friendly and helpful. The accommodation was immaculate and the Christmas decorations and extra touches were greatly appreciated like the fresh milk tea & coffee biscuits and chocolates. The Christmas lights were amazing and our dog loved the well enclosed garden. The electric charger was brilliant. We will return and would recommend to anyone amazing place with wonderful hosts. You will have a great time here.
