Guests say

Brambley Meadow is a charming, characterful farmhouse ideal for large groups and families seeking a peaceful rural retreat in North Devon. Guests praise its spaciousness, quirky features, and beautiful surroundings, with highlights including the hot tub, wood burners, and friendly hosts. While many found the property clean and well-equipped, some noted areas needing attention, such as occasional cleanliness issues and dated furnishings. The location is tranquil yet accessible, though a few found it tricky to find. Overall, it offers a memorable countryside experience with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Several guests found the property clean and tidy on arrival, but others reported cobwebs, crumbs, stained bedding, and missed cleaning in some areas. Cleanliness appears inconsistent, with some improvement needed.

The rural setting is widely appreciated for its tranquillity and scenic beauty, with easy access to North Devon attractions. Some guests found the property a little tricky to locate, but overall the location is a strong positive.

Guests enjoyed the spaciousness and unique character of the house, but some mentioned uncomfortable mattresses, cold temperatures in winter, and occasional issues with bedding. The property is generally comfortable, especially in warmer months.

The house offers ample space, a well-equipped kitchen, hot tub, and wood burners, which guests enjoyed. However, there were reports of broken appliances (dishwasher, WiFi), lack of some basics (cleaning products, hand soap), and maintenance needs.

Hosts are described as friendly and helpful, sometimes providing thoughtful touches such as lighting fires before arrival and gifting eggs. However, these gestures are not guaranteed for every stay.

Thought it needed a bit of a clean on arrival. Thought liquid hand soap would be a basic requirement to be left for visitors on hygiene grounds so had to nip out to get some. Promised welcome pack, as described in details, never arrived. Husband hit his head on low beams ( he was warned !). Needed to wash his pillow case as a result and was very disappointed with the stained pillow protectors. The snooker table was enjoyed by the youngsters but there was no outdoor area for them to play games, completely gravelled. We enjoyed the hot tub and the area.

Good isolated location which is what we wanted. However we were disappointed with the interior. It clearly needs some renovation. That aside it hadn't been properly cleaned when we arrived, there were crumbs on the table and floor. The furniture was somewhat dilapidated with splits in the leather. There were cobwebs in some of the corners. Some crockery was badly chipped. Our children were looking forward to the working farm. There isn't one! The photos in the advertising literature give a rosy view of the interior which disappoints when you actually see it for real.

Could do with a good clean but very peaceful surroundings. Lovely to get a visit from the two resident horses each day and a little robin was there every morning whilst we had our morning tea/coffee. Owners are lovely people. Would definitely book again
