Guests say

Rose Cottage in Devon is praised for its stunning views, immaculate gardens, and peaceful setting. Guests appreciate the well-equipped and comfortable interiors, though the access road's condition is a recurring concern. The property's cleanliness and the warm welcome, occasionally including a cream tea, are frequently commended.

The cottage receives high praise for its cleanliness, with multiple reviews highlighting its spotless condition. However, a few mentions of wood lice and a damp smell in the downstairs loo slightly affect the score.

The location is celebrated for its beautiful views and tranquillity, with easy access to local attractions. The challenging access road, however, has been noted as a drawback by several guests.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, mentioning cosy bedrooms and a well-equipped kitchen. A few comments about draughtiness and slow heating slightly reduce the score.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the well-appointed kitchen and clean bathroom with good water pressure. Some concerns about maintenance, such as the spongy floor in the loo and the need for blankets, are noted.

The owners' thoughtfulness is appreciated, with mentions of a warm welcome and a cream tea on arrival. It is politely noted that such gestures, while delightful, may not be guaranteed for every stay.

It gave us the piece, quiet and tranquility we needed. The cottage was very well equipped, with everything we needed. We witnessed some wonderful sunsets. We have taken pictures of the mist rolling in through the valley. A very special place. Thank you Pauline for making our stay special. Sherie

It was equipped with every thing we needed for our short stay However no review would be complete without mentioning the long narrow access track that is very rough with lots of deep ridges and large pot holes. If you drive an SUV or 4x4 with a high ride height you would fine, if like us you drive a small hatchback with limited ground clearance you will find it challenging as it would be very easy to damage the under side of the car.

The location is beautiful and the inside is tastefully furnished, clean, spacious and yet still cosy, giving stupendous views of local countryside. The only down side I would mention is the price of the gorgeous view means some wear and tear on your tyres and suspension as the track leading to the cottage is very rough and pot-holed in places. Despite this I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely setting.
