The Linhay in Devon is a well-received cottage, praised for its beautiful location, spaciousness, and pet-friendly environment. Guests enjoyed the hot tub with stunning views, the welcoming atmosphere, and the added bonus of sports facilities. While some decor and furniture are noted as dated, ongoing improvements are appreciated. The property's tranquility and the thoughtful touches by the hosts contribute to a memorable stay.
Most guests found The Linhay to be clean and well-maintained, with a few noting areas that could benefit from deeper cleaning or attention. The presence of cobwebs and dust in some reviews suggests room for improvement, but overall, the property is kept to a good standard.
The property's location is highly praised for its picturesque countryside and tranquility, offering a peaceful retreat with beautiful views. Its proximity to local attractions and beaches adds to its appeal, although the rural setting requires some driving to amenities.
Guests generally found The Linhay comfortable, with a warm and cosy atmosphere. However, some guests mentioned uncomfortable beds and noise issues, indicating that while the property is comfortable for most, there is scope for enhancing the comfort level of the accommodations.
The facilities, including the hot tub, games room, and sports courts, are well-liked by guests, despite some comments about them being slightly tired or in need of updating. The well-equipped kitchen and the presence of modern bathrooms are also noted positively.
The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident through the warm welcomes, quick responses to issues, and occasional treats left for guests. While these gestures are appreciated and contribute to the positive experience, it is politely noted that such gifts are not guaranteed with every stay.

The garden and the hot tub were enjoyed by all and the grandchildren loved learning how to play tennis with their Gramps. We would thoroughly recommend a stay at The Linhay!

At first the house was very nice but after a while we noticed, Missed cleaning of places, behind doors etc, The place is in a very strong need of decorating, something that previous people have mentioned. We were unhappy that logs were not provided on the cold nights and when we asked for some we were told we had to purchase them, there is a log burner in the sitting room provided but after the few left for our use we had to buy some, When we asked for more toilet rolls, we were told we are expected to buy them ourselves,Catherine gave us 6 for the last 5 days for 8 people,5 bedrooms. The table in the well layed out kitchen was very sticky,we believe from varnish not dirt, perhaps a different finish would be better. The is a need for larger fridges in the kitchen baring in mind there can be 10 people there to store shopping food drinks etc. Curtains in the bedrooms need attention as they do not fit. We were disappointed that extra towels are not provided for use with the hot tub. Decor throughout needs looking into otherwise as previous reviews have pointed out it will continue to be hi lighted The table for use in the garden has seen better days and a new one is needed that also will seat 10 people. There are not any chairs loungers to use in the garden, only small box shaped seats and a corner removable cushions bench. There is also a strong need for a large umbrella to use in the hot sun. Safety handles and anti slip mats are a need to be put in the showers/baths to assist people especially older aged to prevent falls. Parking will be a problem if the visitors total 10,as there is parking at a tight fit for 3 cars,so we wonder where another 2 cars would park as this is a 5 bedroom,10 people stay. As far as buying logs, toilet rolls,we have been on many cruises at a cheaper Cost and are not expected to provide hot tub towels, logs and toilet rolls, something that needs to be look at here. People need to be aware of the difficult driving through very tight lanes to the let especially at night, locals appear to drive faster down these lanes. We will not be booking again and only hope this review will be taken into consideration for further letâs.
