These glorious beaches are a paradise for surfers of all ability levels, with boards, wetsuits and expert tuition available at most locations. Explore the peaceful surroundings and take a stroll among the encompassing verdant fields and farmland before heading over to Barnstaple town centre where you'll find an abundance of shopping facilities to stock up on goods, as well as local pubs and restaurants for when you fancy an evening out of the kitchen, or enjoy a romantic walk next to the River Taw. Nearer to home, the villages of Braunton, Muddiford, West Down have a variety of restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops, whilst the Marwood Gardens and Tea Rooms are less than 1 mile away. Choose a day of adventure along the exciting Tarka Trail, which runs through Braunton, reaching over 180 miles across North Devon and Exmoor; take your pick between foot or pedal, viewing unspoilt areas of Devonshire landscapes, quiet countryside, a striking coastline and rugged woodland.
