Guests enjoy use of the facilities at neighbouring Combe Martin Beach Holiday Park, Sandaway’s sister park.

5pm check in and 9am check out to allow for extra cleaning! Not sure what was cleaned as even the dishes in cupboard were dirty, the shower tray was grubby and mouldy ....toilet seat so loose I'd go sideways. Sleep was virtually impossible on the thinnest mattress and if lucky to drop off it would be short lived as very unruly unsociable holiday makers nearby caused mayhem into the early hours , even the police were called to try to calm them . This happened every night so we had to go home a day early as desperate for sleep.

The holiday itself was fantastic, we booked cheap and cheerful for our two kids more than anything but we were pleasantly surprised by the place. The North Devon coastline is one of the best in the British isles and easy to see why. Would've stayed longer had we known how much there was to explore. It's worth having a boat trip at iflracombe, which is a short journey away, 4 or 5 miles I think. The on site heated outdoor pool was great fun. The park was clean and tidy. The little shop on site was fairly well stocked with essentials as well as souvenirs,beach toys etc. The only reason I haven't scored it much higher is that the twenty year old caravan was pretty scabby. Fine for a short stay like ours (4 nights). The windows didn't shut properly, it smelt of cigarettes , and despite the extra hour check in time for covid ( we weren't able to check in until 5pm) there wasn't much evidence of a deep clean. In fact, we found cobwebs and a bit of a stench to greet us after a 9 hour drive. If you don't mind giving it a quick clean yourself once you arrive and you intend to just sleep there and a slice of toast in the morning and a quick cuppa then it's fine.

Old decrepit van needed condemning gave us what they said was a very good upgrade doors didn't close toilet seat too small for such a big toilet tv only had indoor aerial kept losing reception could only get BBC Wales no good when you're in the south west site needs a lot of money spending on it last spent a week on a j Fowler's site over 30years ago it will be that again before I'd consider returning to one all together a week to forget
