Step inside to discover a spacious open-plan living area with a TV, providing a pleasant space to unwind after a day exploring the coast. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, wine chiller and coffee maker, while the dining area seats four guests and provides a lovely setting for home-cooked meals or board games. The lodge offers two well-appointed bedrooms, including a king-size room with TV and en-suite featuring a walk-in shower, heated towel rail, basin and WC, alongside an inviting twin room. Outside, the wraparound decking with furniture provides a lovely place to enjoy your morning coffee or dine alfresco while taking in the peaceful surroundings. Selected properties on the site welcome dogs and benefit from an exercise field, while dog towels are also provided. There is plenty to enjoy onsite, including a dog-friendly bar open during school holiday weekends only serving cold bottled beers and a seasonal ‘pasty and a pint’ offering, alongside a children’s play area. The bar has seasonal opening times, while several welcoming pubs can be found nearby, including The Dolphin, Focsie Inn, Pack O’Cards and The Castle, which also hosts live music and has a beer garden.
A fish and chip shop is conveniently situated opposite the site, with cafes serving cream teas and pasties in the village. For walkers, Hangman Cliffs, England’s highest sea cliff, is nearby, while the South West Coast Path can be accessed from the front door. Further family-friendly attractions include Exmoor Zoo, Watermouth Castle & Family Theme Park and Arlington Court & National Trust Carriage Museum. Co-op is available in Combe Martin, with Tesco and Lidl in nearby Ilfracombe. At the point where the Exmoor National Park and the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty meet, is where you'll find Combe Martin. This small seaside resort, with all of the necessary amenities, is a great attraction to locals and visitors alike. Combe Martin has a very popular beach; the sheltered cove is perfect for rock-pooling and it is a popular paddle boarding bay. The village also boasts its own Wildlife and Dinosaur Park! Combe Martin is home to the historic Earl of Rone festival held in May each year and has an annual carnival in August. This is an ideal base for touring, and discovering the delights of North Devon, with Lynton and Lynmouth, Woolacombe, Croyde Bay, Saunton Sands, Ilfracombe and Barnstaple all within easy reach. There are also numerous National Trust properties and gardens waiting to be enjoyed. Surfing at Woolacombe is among the best in the South West, while the South West coastal path passes within a mile. Combe Martin is a great base for enjoying a seaside getaway, with something to keep everybody entertained.
