Beach Road House is a well-loved cottage praised for its superb location and homely feel. Guests appreciate the proximity to the beach and local amenities, with many looking forward to returning. While some minor maintenance issues and cleaning oversights are noted, the overall experience is positive, with special mentions of a welcoming atmosphere and thoughtful touches.
The property generally maintains good standards of cleanliness, though some guests have noted areas that require attention, such as under sofas and the patio area. The management's oversight has been mentioned, suggesting room for improvement in ensuring a consistently spotless environment.
The location is highly praised for its closeness to the beach and local attractions. It is well-situated between Ilfracombe and Combe Martin, with easy access to pubs, shops, and bus stops, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.
Guests find the cottage cosy and warm, especially for winter breaks. However, some have mentioned uncomfortable beds and issues with light in the bedrooms due to lack of blinds on skylights, which affects the quality of sleep for light-sensitive guests.
The property is equipped with essentials, but several guests have reported maintenance issues such as a leaking dishwasher, creaking floorboards, and a non-flushing toilet. These issues indicate a need for better upkeep and facility management.
Many guests have expressed appreciation for the thoughtful touches, such as welcome packs and treats for dogs. These gestures contribute to the welcoming atmosphere, although it should be noted that such gifts are a courtesy and not guaranteed with every stay.

Iâve been visiting the area for a number of years (in excess of 30) and this was my most favourite place to stay. The parking bay in front of the house was a huge benefit. The surrounding garden area - well maintained and tidy. Keysafe use - easy Interior was pleasantly furnished. Sofas comfortable. Well stocked kitchen - we wanted for nothing. The milk and snacks were a very welcome surprise - thank you. Bedrooms were comfortable for all guests. Skylight would benefit from a blind if youâre light sensitive - that said I slept the best I have in a long time. Bathroom was lovely. The entire place was spotless clean - thank you Teresa. Pub and shop across the road were really handy. 5 min stroll to beach and also to the delightful Tea room. 10min drive to Tesco. Wouldnât hesitate to recommend or stay again. Thank you sharing your home. We absolutely loved our time

So close to beach and well situated between Ilfracombe itself and Combe Martin. The property is full of everything you could want and need. Only thing to note is the shower does leak out of the tub onto the floor and the sky light in the main bedroom has no blinds so it gets bright in there really early in the morning and wakes you up. The other thing is the mattress in the main bedroom is very hard.
