Ocean Terrace 1 is a well-regarded lodge in Ilfracombe, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and stunning sea views. Guests appreciate the spaciousness, well-equipped kitchen, and cosy atmosphere. The on-site pub and convenient location for exploring North Devon are notable perks. Some minor maintenance issues and outdoor seating comfort were mentioned, but overall, guests had enjoyable stays and would recommend the property.
The majority of guests found the lodge to be very clean and well looked after, with spotless conditions that contributed positively to their stays. A single mention of a kitchen item not being clean slightly impacts the score.
The lodge's location is frequently praised for its proximity to local attractions and beautiful sea views. However, a few guests noted traffic noise and the closure of a dog walking park, which slightly detracts from the perfect score.
Guests consistently describe the lodge as comfortable, warm, and cosy, with a well-equipped kitchen and good heating. Some feedback about the outdoor seating and a mention of stained settees suggest room for improvement.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-appointed lodge and a welcome pack mentioned. However, several reviews point out maintenance issues such as decking in need of repair, a broken shower screen, and a need for updated kitchenware, which affects the score.
The owner's proactive communication and a welcome pack indicate thoughtfulness. However, as gifts like welcome packs may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay, this is reflected in the score.

Everything worked and the kitchen supplies - tea coffee biscuits cleaning products etc were most welcome. Our only 2 down points were due to our disabilities we found the dinning room furniture very heavy and a check out time of 10am put a lot of pressure on us. An extra hour would have made a great difference.

Overall we had a great holiday exploring the north Devon coast line.

In side the lounge area the settees were badly stained, in the kitchen the tray in the oven were not clean and the grill tray was very rusted and the seal was broken, so we did not want to cook so ate out. Also in need of a new frying pan worn and disgusting, the main bathroom shower screen was damaged with the plastic seal split and come away which could hurt a child. Ending on the bed linen and towels they were clean but smelt very musky damp smell.
