Join the Tarka Trail (less than 0.5 miles), a traffic-free walking and cycle path occupying a disused railway line, to follow the estuary to reach the market town of Bideford (4 miles), to stroll along its stunning quayside. Hop aboard the seasonal passenger ferry from Instow to the fishing village of Appledore (6 miles) to discover its quaint narrow streets or enjoy a traditional bucket and spade day at the gloriously golden Westward Ho! Beach 5.5 miles away.
