Guests say

Glenview is a well-received cottage, praised for its cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and comprehensive facilities. Nestled in a scenic location, it offers a tranquil setting with woodland walks on the doorstep. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, including welcome gifts, although these are not guaranteed. The property is ideal for families and dog owners, with some noting the convenience of nearby attractions and the homely atmosphere.

Reviewers consistently mention the spotless condition of the cottage upon arrival, indicating a very high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.

The cottage's location is highly praised for its proximity to Lynton and Lynmouth, scenic walks, and peaceful woodland setting, though some caution is advised due to the nearby busy road.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with special mentions of comfy beds and a homely feel. However, a few guests noted the twin room bed was less comfortable for adults and the noise from bats.

The property is lauded for being well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, and for having excellent showers. One minor criticism was directed at the oven, suggesting room for improvement.

Many reviewers express gratitude for the thoughtful welcome gifts, such as wine and honey, and the provision of essentials. It is politely noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and not guaranteed.

About this property

This refurbished detached house is situated in Barbrook above the road which leads to Lynton and Lynmouth. Facing lovely woodland around the River Lyn, it is friendly accommodation for families or adults to explore the area. You can either head up twenty steps from the parking area to your front door or use the level access from the road. Inside, through the hall, you will be greeted by the smart oak-floored sitting room with its French windows opening to a patio. The big kitchen is a lovely place to cook whilst you watch TV and then enjoy meals around the central table.

Stairs lead up to the three welcoming bedrooms, one en suite and two with TVs. The lawned garden separates the house from the road, and you also have a big patio to one side for sitting peacefully sheltered by woods and flowers. This is wonderful walking, cycling and mountain biking country, or you can enjoy a ride from the local stables. A path by the river leads to a pub in a mile, or head to Lynton and Lynmouth for pubs and restaurants and a ride on the funicular railway. This is a homely and welcoming house for exploring the area at any time of year.

Set directly on the coast at the foot of the Exmoor hills, this charming village draws visitors from near and far. Quaint Lynmouth sits between the river, shore and hills and offers small restaurants, tea rooms and inns.

The beds were the comfiest we have slept in. The cottage was well equipped - everything thought of and provided for a home away from home feel.

Facilities were brilliant everything you could ask for. Great location. Best place we've stayed and we come to Exmoor every year. Hosts were brilliant everything accessible and really lovely to have tea, coffee and milk there on arrival and a lovely bottle of wine. Would definitely book again.
