A day out into west Somerset is recommended with places such as Porlock Weir, the pretty harbour village of Watchet, medieval Dunster village and the National Trust’s Dunster Castle and Gardens. The seaside town of Minehead nearby is home to the West Somerset Steam Railway. There are plenty of National Trust properties locally, including Arlington Court, Knightshayes and Combe Park. The cottage was in a beautiful location although the lane to it is very narrow and hardly any passing points. Fiona and bill were very helpful and friendly. The house was clean and spacious

We stayed for a week in this very well equipped cottage. It sleeps 6 and there is enough space for 6 to enjoy the cottage and garden. We were a bit unlucky with the weather so we didn't use the garden. The views from the cottage were perfect, one of the reasons we stayed there.Because of the weather we had to use the heating, which worked perfectly. Our host Fiona is very friendly and around when we needed her. She left us a very nice welcom hamper.Good to know: Lynton with restaurants and shops is a few minutes by car. The last mile or so to the cottage is a single track road with passing places, so take care.It is possible to start your walk from the doorstep as the cottage is just two minutes from the moor and the Two Moors Way.
