The beaches are part of the North Devon World Surfing Reserve. Mortehoe has two pubs, a farm store in season at North Morte Farm, post office, fine bistro restaurant, coffee shop, chip shop and takeaway. The South West Coast Path runs though the village. As you walk from Morte Point towards the lighthouse at Bull Point, look out for seals and take in the coastal heathland and maritime grasslands, which are great habitats for birds and other wildlife. and a colony of seals. Follow a circular walking route of just over 2 miles from Mortehoe to Morte Point.
