About this property

A lovely, modern detached property in the centre of the rural village of Cornworthy, rested on Bow Creek, part of the River Dart Estuary. Built in the late 1980’s, the property has been updated considerably, beautifully presented and very comfortable, suited for families or friends. The ground floor welcomes you inside via a porch and hallway to two family sized rooms including a beautiful Kitchen Diner with granite counter-tops, along with a Sitting room, illuminated by low lighting, comfy sofas, and a charming fireplace which features a wood burning stove. The integral garage area contains Utility facilities, washer, dryer, freezer, and a convenient storage area. The bedrooms are situated on the first floor. Leading off a spacious landing, you will be spoilt for choice between three King size bedrooms and a Twin option. All carrying a nautical calming feel, two are joined by en-suites, whilst the Master room also boasts an elevated terrace with bistro table and chairs. A sizable family bathroom finishes the first floor interior. You are able to relax in the private enclosed garden, divided between a lawn and patio area. The village itself is located on the Dart Valley Trail and is popular with walking and sailing enthusiasts. The local village pub, 200mtrs up the road recently reopened ( May 2019 ) under new ownership and new tenants." This is a wonderful region to explore on foot or by car, through the village to nearby Tuckenhay, Dittisham and Agatha Christy’s “Greenway House”. Ferry boats and river trips are a “must do” between Totnes and Dartmouth and Dartmouth Castle. Both towns boast access for the visitor by steam train to Buckfastleigh and Paignton respectively. Totnes is a short drive away, an attractive and vibrant town which boasts a mainline railway station that provides direct services from London Paddington in under three hours.

Cornworthy is a picturesque village in the sought-after South Hams area of Devon that dates back to Saxon times. Much of the village makes up part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The coastal towns of Dittisham and Dartmouth are nearby and provide excellent opportunities for marine activities and some of the UKs best seafood restaurants (such as The Seahorse). Totnes is also a short drive away, an attractive, vibrant town, which also includes a railway station that provides direct services to London Paddington in under three hours. For shopping addicts Totnes offers an excellent range of small independent retailers and unique shops. The town is famed for its promotion of ethical products, wholefoods and fair trade goods. In the Civil Hall Square you’ll find the weekly market which is held on Fridays and Saturdays. And an Elizabethan market held each Tuesday morning (May-September), when traders dress in Elizabethan period costumes and the Totnes Sunday Good Food Market.

Catered for all our comfort and needs. Very well equipped. It was great to know that it would be lovely and warm when we got in from a rainy day! (we went in March). The property location was ideal for a great pub just up the hill and lovely walks. The one-track lanes close to the property were challenging, but good once out of the village. The walks in the surrounding countryside and other villages were outstanding. A great week away.

All the facilities you need. No mobile signal but wifi calling good. Great communication concerning spare bin bags. Roads to village an adventure but ok (take your time). Waterside pub was great.

It really is a beautiful property and we will definitely bring the family again. The communication was brilliant throughout and any requests made were actioned really quickly making it really easy and safe to bring very young children. It really was the best equipped holiday home
