Guests say

Middle Watch is a well-loved cottage in Dartmouth, praised for its stunning views and prime location. Guests appreciate the property's homely feel, comfortable furnishings, and the thoughtful touches like a Christmas tree during the festive season. While some guests noted issues with cleanliness and maintenance, these were not the majority. The property's challenging access due to steps was mentioned, but it did not detract from the overall positive experiences.

Most guests found Middle Watch clean and well-presented. However, concerns about mattress protectors and a stained mattress in one of the bedrooms suggest room for improvement in the cleanliness regime.

The location is highly praised for its beautiful views of the River Dart and proximity to Dartmouth's centre. The steps to the property are noted, but the location's benefits seem to outweigh this inconvenience for most guests.

Guests generally find the property comfortable, with new sofas and well-appointed rooms. Some guests mentioned uncomfortable beds and itchy linen, which suggests variability in the comfort experience.

The property is well-equipped and guests are pleased with the facilities, including outdoor seating and a well-furnished kitchen. Maintenance issues like a leak and the need for a new teapot are minor but noted.

Guests have mentioned thoughtful gestures such as a lit Christmas tree upon arrival. While these gestures are appreciated, it is important to note that such personal touches, though delightful, are not guaranteed with every stay.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the stunning Start Bay coastline, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many popular events such as the annual Dart Music Festival, Dartmouth Food Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta. This historic town boasts interesting landmarks, such as Dartmouth Castle, the Britannia Royal Naval College, and the National Trust’s Greenway House just a short ferry ride away. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through the rolling countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat or ferry trip across to Kingswear, on to Brixham, or down the river to the village of Dittisham. For those seeking sandy beaches, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular beaches just a stone's throw from Dartmouth.

We love the property, location and all that is on offer around this area. Even our children ask to come back. The property has got everything you need on holiday.

We stayed there as a family and it had everything we needed. Inside and out there is everything you need. Located on the edge of the town centre it’s a convenient distance to all the attractions and hospitality. We will be booking to stay here again.

.. rear patio, needs a bit of tidying up... cob webs on all patio equipment, and weeds . Otherwise great holiday home!
