Linney Cottage in Dittisham is highly praised for its comfort, stunning views, and well-equipped facilities. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, the peaceful and dog-friendly location, and the thoughtful touches such as a welcome call from the owner. While some mention minor issues with water pressure and living space size, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests planning return visits.
Reviews consistently mention that Linney Cottage is clean and tidy, with guests feeling it is as welcoming as the day they left. The high standard of cleanliness contributes significantly to the overall positive experience.
The location is celebrated for its beautiful views, proximity to local amenities, and the peacefulness of the village. The dog-friendly environment and accessibility to walks and ferries are also highly valued, although some guests note the hilly terrain and narrow access roads.
Guests find the cottage comfortable, with special mentions of the beds and well-laid-out rooms. Some guests, however, find the living area slightly small and the sofas a bit low, which could be a consideration for older visitors.
The cottage is praised for being well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and having a secure garden. However, some guests mention issues with water pressure and outdated bathrooms, and a few would prefer a freezer over a dishwasher.
The owner's pre-arrival call and the provision of essentials such as towels and kitchen supplies are appreciated. While some guests mention welcome gifts like wine and mince pies, it is noted that such gestures, while delightful, are not guaranteed.

We come here year after year, and itâs like a second home to us. Itâs very comfortable, homely and well equipped. It has a private garden which is a real bonus, and that leads in to a communal orchid and to âchampagne cornerâ, a bench overlooking the River Dart, which is quite spectacular. We love Dittisham. Itâs so pretty. One of our favourite places to be!

It was lovely to talk to the owner before the holiday to get some good useful knowledge prior to arrival. The cottage benefited from a lovely view across to the river Dart, the sunsets were amazing and we were lucky enough to see the Northern lights on our last evening. The walk down to the riverside is really pleasant if a little steep but if you take your time it is manageable by road or recreational area. From here you can get a ferry to Greenway or a direct ferry to Dartmouth which allows you to leave the car behind for a day. We visited Dartington Estate, Fast Rabbit and Gardentime, Greenway, Dartmouth, Burgh Island, Salcombe and Little Dartmouth to Dartmouth Castle during our week. All were just a short drive or ferry ride away. All the locals we came into contact with were very friendly and we felt very much at home during our stay. The cottage is ideal for two friends sharing with a bedroom and bathroom floor each and a settee each in the lounge. We would recommend this cottage highly.

The bathrooms are functional but a bit 80s. Kitchen was well very supplied with equipment. Very responsive owner when a problem did arise. Only one house key provided, would have preferred one each. Quite a few cobwebs in the higher places, main bed was a little on the soft side.
