Two Hoots is a well-loved cottage, praised for its stunning views, spaciousness, and high-quality amenities. Guests appreciate the comfortable furnishings and the property's proximity to local beaches and villages. While some concerns about cleanliness and maintenance were noted, the overall experience is highly regarded, with many guests eager to return.
Cleanliness received mixed feedback. Some guests found the property very clean, while others reported issues with dog hair and superficial cleaning. Concerns about allergic reactions to pet hair suggest room for improvement in deep cleaning, especially after pet stays.
The location is highly praised for its beautiful views and proximity to beaches and villages. The narrow access lanes are noted as challenging but manageable, and the peaceful setting is appreciated.
Guests consistently commend the comfort of the property, highlighting the large bedrooms, comfy beds, and well-appointed living spaces. The snug area and balcony are particularly appreciated for relaxation.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and ample living space. However, some guests experienced issues with plumbing noise, TV operation, and a need for better maintenance of outdoor areas.

The property is large and especially upstairs, struggles to get to a comfortable temperature. This year the heating developed a fault and the upstairs radiators remained cold. We were waking freezing cold. A phone call to Sykes to report this was not returned. We decided to return home to our warm house. Very disappointed regarding the owners refusal to reimburse us for the two nights lots. Will always return to Thurlestone in December but will choose a property with sufficient heating.

The first flood we dealt with even though we couldn't work out the reason but the second time we called Paul ad he came over very quickly. We did have to use all towels to mop up and didn't leave the house until Paul came. It did mean a lot later start to our last day of our holiday but that couldn't be helped. Aside from this we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and certainly exercised our legs on the coastal walks to Hope Cove and Bantham!

All of the bedrooms are of a great size with brilliant views over the countryside to the sea. The furnishings are tasteful and the chairs and sofas all lovely and comfortable. The snug is a bonus which the kids appreciated as they could watch their programmes without disturbing the adults. If a door could be fitted to keep the noise of the very large TV contained that would be even better. The well equipped kitchen was appreciated as so often a utensil is missing or of poor quality, but not at Two Hoots. As a minor niggle it would be good to know exactly is provided in terms of dishwasher tablets , washing up liquid, salt pepper etc. We ordered cooking oil in our holiday delivery but this was not needed and conversely there was no washing up liquid provided and we assumed there would be based on other holiday rentals we have used over the years.
